People from all walks of life pass through the doors of this homeless refuge, and they are often vulnerable & traumatised .
The individuals and families that are staying at the homeless refuge are experiencing extreme adversity and vulnerability. The diversity of the demographic ranges from a young mum with her 5 year old son, multiple young women with complex mental health challenges or men who are trying to navigate their way through hardship and isolation. A young mum who is fighting tirelessly to get her babies back, women who are studying and going back to university and families who are fleeing domestic violence. Homelessness can happen to anyone, no matter what your status in society may be, how old you are, or how stable your finances are. That is why it is essential to be compassionate, empowering and committed to advocacy.
