Elderly couple lost their home during VIC 2022 flood event
I am requesting support for an elderly couple who lost their home during the October 2022 VIC flood event. One member of the household has a disability. This couple's home was destroyed by the flood and burnt down due to an electrical fault following the flood. They lost their home and all their contents. Fortunately, they have insurance and the house is in the process of being rebuilt. However, they have had to pay for accommodation for a caravan park for 18 months, which is difficult for an elderly couple on the pension while also paying other bills (rates, insurance excesses, etc). To make matters worse, their caravan was damaged in the Feb storm event and they did not have accommodation for two weeks. They have endured high levels of stress and financial hardships during this 18 month period and support would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
