Really remote Aboriginal community have lost everything in 2023 Kimberley floods. Preparations are in hand to move home

Remote Community in Fitzroy Crossing have lost everything in the 2023 floods. Approx 35 people from one family group across all age brackets have lost all their belongings. The family has endured many difficulties during this trying time. They are all currently living in temporary housing units on country while their homes are being raised and rebuilt. Everyone is excited to see the changes to their homes as workmen carry out the rebuilds. During outreach programs the residents have expressed a desire for gardening implements so that they can rebuild their gardens when they return to their homes. They are wanting to plant bananas and other edibles which can be shared by all within the community, as well as beautifying the community.
