Afghani family of mum & 4 children who have moved to a DOH house but furniture is old, in disrepair & unusable.
Our organisation has been providing assistance to all members of this Afghani family of mum & 4 children, with settlement including physical & mental health support, finance, education, training & employment.
Mum has many physical problems including a back injury & suffers with mental health issues from past trauma & anxiety. In the last few months mum has been feeling under a great deal of stress due to their housing conditions & finances. In January all the family were very distressed when she attempted self-harm/ suicide & was hospitalised. Fortunately, the family have been provided a house through the Department of Housing.
Unfortunately, much of the furniture they have taken with them is old, in disrepair & has not survived the transport to the new house. Items now unusable are mum’s queen bed, two wardrobes & a TV table/unit. Concerns are that mum is currently sleeping on a mattress on the floor. Financial support would also be appreciated as they have limited finances.
