Road Boss Jamie Lawson has been organising charity car rallies for more than 20 years and is passionate about every aspect of how a charity car rally works… and that is that everyone is a winner! Lawson is the best in the business when it comes to entertaining people out in the bush, organising and running a charity rally through amazing places and masters at making people feel at ease and ready to generously donate to a worthy cause.
More than 20 million dollars has been directly funnelled into charities, community groups and not for profit organisations as a direct result of the rallies that Lawson has organised since he hit the road back in 1995.
In 2015 Lawson established his own venture, the Road Boss Rally, and nominated GIVIT as the charity of choice after hearing GIVIT’s CEO Juliette Wright call for support during a radio segment. During the first rally in 2016, entrants handed over a massive cheque to GIVIT for $250,000! Then, in 2017, entrants went even further and raised an incredible $264,321! Again in 2018, entrants generously gave more than $250,000! That’s more than three-quarters of a million dollars raised for GIVIT through the Road Boss Rally.
The major fundraising aspect of the rally comes from a per vehicle compulsory donation towards GIVIT. Entrants are encouraged and motivated to raise over and above the $1000 minimum pledge, however no one will feel obliged or obligated. As well as that, all funds from any fundraising activities that are conducted during the event (auctions, donations etc...) will go directly to GIVIT to support Australia's most vulnerable and marginalised people.
The per vehicle entry fee that each crew pays to enter into the event covers all expenses and outgoing cost's relating to the organisation, planning, mapping and running of the event. Any net profits from the event will also be donated to the charity of choice.
Road Boss Rally raises awareness and donates real money which goes directly to help those who need it most through GIVIT. No smoke and mirrors or false trumpet blowing, just real people raising real money for a real good cause.
