YMCA Vocational School - Acacia Ridge

We are a special assistance school senior high school (Years 10-12) for students who have disengaged or at risk of disengaging from school.
Students are referred to us by mainstream schools due to truancy, behaviour, mental health and learning disorders such as ASD and ADHD. Youth service organisations such as Child Safety, Out of Home Care Providers and other youth services also refer young people to us who have disengaged from school. We are a multi-cultural school with numerous Indigenous, Islander, African and Islamic students.
Approx 90% of our young people come from a trauma background often due to DV. 80% of our students have resulting social and emotional disorders, with an additional 20% presenting with cognitive learning issues such ADHD, ASD or Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. Our goal is to provide our young people with the opportunities they required to be the best versions of themselves so they can gain employment.

Youth Futures WA is a specialised service provider for young people aged 13 to 24 inclusive. Youth Insearch runs one of the most successful youth intervention programs in Australia. Youth Link is a not for profit organization based in Cairns Far North Queensland that provide a range of supports and services (link to services) for young people 12 to 24 years who are at risk, homeless or at risk of homelessness. The programs and services at Youth Link, including ‘drop in’, are directed towards creating improved quality of life, health and accommodation outcomes for these young people.

"The Living room" is a free primary heath service located in Melbourne CBD for people experiencing homelessness/disadvantage. Our aim is to help people transition from homelessness. We combine medical care, mental health and drug counselling and pathways to training apprenticeships and jobs all in our one organisation which means help is easier to find.
People can also drop in for free showers and laundry, clothing, food, phone calls, phone charging, internet access, watch a movie or just relax and enjoy the music playlist.

Last year alone, our team at The Living Room provided practical support 18,000+ times, provided 7,900+ showers, 3,600+ loads of laundry and recorded 1,218 times doctor consultations.
