WMQ - Youth Support Services - Northern Gold Coast

The Youth Support Service offers service information, advice and support to young people and their families in the Northern Gold Coast region. Young people aged 12-18 years who are experiencing issues with family and community connections, problems with school or getting involved in training or employment, or are at risk of harm or homelessness, are able to access the Youth Support Worker for practical and emotional support . The support worker will work alongside the young person to identify areas that they would like to improve, and work on a plan to improve their well-being, whilst developing skills the young person can use to better manage their life. This service is a voluntary and free service that respects the rights of young people, whilst acknowledging the importance of family.

We work with people with a disability by aiming to ensuring our participants lead a good quality, normal life. We provide Support Coordination and Direct Support for people with a disability.

Woden Community Service - CYFS Case Management

Our Family Case Management team provides support to families who are experiencing challenges and need some additional assistance. We aim to strengthen your skills and capacity so that you can continue to nurture and sustain your own wellbeing.

We can support your family in flexible ways, offering short- and medium-term family case management to families living within the Inner South Canberra, Woden, Weston and Molonglo regions.

Our family case managers can support you through activities such as:
- work with you and your family to identify your goals and support you to achieve them
- provide information and support around improving your family’s wellbeing
- build on your strengths and empower your family to reach their potential
- support you to make beneficial links and connections with your community
- connect you to a wide range of services that meet your family’s needs, and assist you to maintain this network of support independently

While every family has different needs, some examples of supports we might connect you to include: parenting programs; therapeutic services; mental health services; family violence support; alcohol & drug services; accommodation providers; provide advocacy support to you when you are communicating with government agencies such as Child and Youth Protection Services (CYPS), Housing ACT, Centrelink and the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).

The Child Youth and Family Services program – Family Case Management team is a partnership between Woden Community Service and Anglicare, and is funded by the ACT Government’s Community Services Directorate.

Woden Community Service - Lollipop Early Learning Centre

Lollipop Early Learning Centre is situated in the heart of the Woden Valley, provides a high quality childcare service for babies to children up to 5 years of age.

We provide long day care and occasional care. Our centre is culturally diverse and we are actively involved in local community events.

Lollipop is registered with the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) and works within the National Quality Standard.

Woden Community Service - Mental Health & Wellbeing

Our Hoarding Advocacy Support Service (HASS) Project, supports to people living with a mental health issue with a background of hoarding. The focus of this program is to promote wellbeing, hope, strength and recovery.

Woden Community Service - Mental Health and Recovery NDIS

Our team will work with you one-on-one and in a group setting towards your NDIS goals. This may include working with you to increase your participation in the community, building your existing relationships, maintaining your health and wellbeing or engaging in paid employment or volunteer opportunities.

We support people of all ages and abilities. Our team comes from a multidisciplinary background, and together have an in-depth knowledge of the community sector in the ACT.

Woden Community Service - Molonglo Valley

WCS is committed to building stronger communities and creating connections for people who may not be well connected and are seeking purposeful and valued roles in our community. We do this through our work with people, organisations and government for example our history in running community events in the Molonglo Valley.

Woden Community Service - New Path

New Path is a mental health recovery program supporting people whose ability to manage daily activities and to live independently in the community has been seriously affected by mental health issues.

We support people typically aged 18 to 35, and up to 64, towards greater self-reliance, independence and participation.

We are an early intervention service, which means that we work with people to tackle severe mental health challenges before they become a longer-term problem.

Woden Community Service - Partners in Recovery

The Partners in Recovery program (PIR) is led by Capital Health Network and partners: CatholicCare Canberra and Goulburn, Mental Illness Fellowship Victoria, Northside Community Service, Richmond Fellowship in partnership with Woden Community Service.

PIR engages people with a severe and persistent mental illness and complex needs, and their carers and families, to develop coordinated and integrated support plans across the ACT.

The program is for people over the age of 18 years experiencing a severe mental illness and complex needs.

Woden Community Service - Supportive Tenancy Service

The Supportive Tenancy Service (STS) works with people whose tenancy is at risk, and provides advice to people who do not have a tenancy but are looking to establish one. STS covers any type of tenancy, including public housing, private rental.

Woden Community Service - Tenancy Assistance Program

The Tenancy Assistance Program (TAP) provides support for tenants and mortgagees from early intervention to crisis management. The program is structured into three streams (universal, targeted, and crisis response), tailoring support to individual service needs. TAP will work closely with Onelink and Housing ACT to prevent or respond to homelessness and address the underlying barriers.

Woden Community Service - Youth Engagement

The youth engagement team (YET) provides assertive outreach services, general drop-in facilities, case work and supported referral services for young people aged 12-25 in the South Canberra, Woden and Weston Creek regions of the ACT. YET is funded under the Child, Youth and Family Support Program from the ACT Governments Community Services Directorate which is run partnership between Woden Community Service and Anglicare ACT. Case work- The Youth engagement Team has engaged in case work with 46 young people. Young people engaged were referred by government and non-government agencies for various supports such as education engagement, mentoring, housing social inclusion, behavior management, financial education, drug and alcohol support, community engagement and employment.
Open access drop in- Runs from Tuesday- Friday year round from 3pm each afternoon. We provide a dinner club every Friday for vulnerable young people.

Woden Valley RSL Sub Branch & Veterans Support Centre

Our Entitlement and Advocacy services are available through the ACT Veterans Support Centre . Our Sub-Branch is co-located with the VSC team of more than 20 highly trained advocates and entitlements/pension officers.
Community Support services are also now provided through the VSC and we can liaise with Federal and ACT agencies, organisations and other ex-service organisations to help provide welfare services.

Women’s Power of Inspiration Inc

Womens Centre FNQ

The Womens Centre FNQ is a specialist Domestic Violence and homelessness service in Far North Queensland (Cairns and Atherton).

Women's Health Matters

Women's Health Matters advocate on behalf of all ACT women, especially those experiencing disadvantage and vulnerability.

WHL provides management services within the Victorian Transitional Housing Management (THM) program, the Victorian Rooming House Program and is a developer of social housing for women.

Women's Justice Network

Women's Justice Network is a grassroots community charity governed by women, including reformed ex-prisoners, dedicated to advancing the prospects and wellbeing of women and female youth affected by the criminal justice system. WIPAN addresses the many issues facing criminalised women and female youth both systemically, by advocating to improve the criminal justice systems and individually, by mentoring.
Many of our women and girls are survivors of institutional care, sexual abuse and domestic and family violence. Our women and girls face extreme economic hardship and disadvantage despite their efforts to turn their lives around.

WLS is a community legal service providing free legal and social work services to women in the areas of domestic violence and family law.

Women's Legal Service WA

WLSWA provides legal advice and assistance to women in WA. WLSWA provides legal assistance in the areas of family violence, family law and protection and care. We can provide women with information about Family Law, or an initial appointment which provides an opportunity to understand the relevant legal processes, her entitlements, and her options to take the next step in her matter. WLSWA also provides community legal education, works in law and policy reform, and has a financial counsellor as well as client support worker to provide a wrap around, holistic service to clients.

Womens Resource Centre

The Women's Resource Centre Bega NSW is a community service for the women of the Bega Valley. WRC is run on 'Women Power'. Enormous amounts of time and energy are given to our work both in the Centre and in the broader community. While some of this is paid work, a great deal comes free of charge and reflects the community commitment to WRC. In particular, unpaid management collective members and direct service volunteers contribute to the WRC on a weekly basis.
The centre is funded through the NSW Department of Communities and Justice - Targeted Earlier Intervention program.

Yiramalay Studio School

Yiramalay Studio School is a partnership between the Bunuba People and Studio Schools of Australia, and is located on Bunuba country, approximately 80km North of Fitzroy Crossing.

Residential on-country
Learning at Yiramalay Studio School happens from eyes open to eyes shut.
To this end, every member of staff at Yiramalay is considered a member of the teaching staff; everyone has a role to play in facilitating opportunities for learning.

Hands-on learning
The unique context of Yiramalay Studio School provides a wide range of opportunities for students to engage with learning beyond the traditional classroom walls on site and with local community groups and businesses.

Two-way learning
Each Studio School has a partner school, creating opportunities for partner school students to spend time on country learning from their Indigenous friends, and Indigenous students experiencing time living and learning in Melbourne.

YIRS One Stop Youth Shop

YIRS One Stop Youth Shop is a local youth support service which supports young people between 8 – 21 years who may need information, support, advice or assistance around something or anything that is of concern.

The team at YIRS also work with families, friends or anyone who is involved in the young person’s life.

YiSSA Stayover - Yilli Rreung

YiSSA is a short-stay accommodation program located at 55 Batten Road, Marrara NT.

​​YiSSA offers accommodation for those who may be at risk of homelessness, seeking housing or those visiting from remote communities. We are partner-shipped with Mission Australia who run the homelessness program, providing further support for those seeking long term accommodation and more.

Yiyili Aboriginal Community School

Yiyili is a small remote Aboriginal community located in the upper to the mid-Kimberly region of Western Australia. Yiyili has an independent school that caters to most of the community's needs as well as by acting as the contact for all external support networks/agencies.

YMCA Cannon Hill Community Centre

We are a Community and Neighbourhood Centre and provide services and supports for all ages and abilities. Our Centre is a safe place where everyone is welcome. Our community services and supports include:
Emergency relief and crisis support - food parcels, clothing, toiletries, blanket, financial assistance with payment of bills, petrol vouchers, prescription medication.
Information and Referral - we link people into other services within the community such as housing, domestic violence and counselling.
Community events and social groups - we hold community events and run social groups to help reduce social isolation and promote connections within the community.
Programs - we run free programs such as a JP service, computer lessons and cooking classes.
We help to create thriving communities and advocate for social justice and human rights for vulnerable members of the community.

YMCA Ipswich Senior Campus / Community Centre

Y Schools Queensland provides adjusted educational programs for secondary students who would benefit from an alternative learning environment and a high degree of wrap around well-being support.

Y Schools Queensland focuses on taking the time to provide individualised support for students. Although each campus is based on the same core values, philosophies and frameworks, each individual community requires its own contextualised approach to effectively cater for the unique needs of local environments, cultures, demographics, and employment demands.

YMCA NSW - Cooma

The Cooma Youth Hub, located in the heart of Cooma, is a drop-in youth centre for young people aged 12 to 17. It offers a safe and friendly environment for young people to hang out in and is open four days a week.
