Gulargambone Preschool is a not-for-profit community run preschool that provides education and care for children aged three to five years in and around our community. We have around 60% enrollments that identify at Indigenous and the majority of all other children are from farming families. It is a beautiful preschool that relies on state government funding to operate and a volunteer parent committee. We have been operating since 1975 and are currently in the process of building a brand new preschool thanks to funding. We provide support for parents and families and ensure children have access to services such as speech, occupational therapy, eyesight screeners and hearing screeners.

Guthrie House Co-operative Incorporated is a not-for-profit transitional service for women, including women with babies in their full-time care. Habitat for Humanity Australia has several programs to support low-income families and vulnerable groups access safe shelter. All our programs engage volunteers to help our partner families. Habitat for Humanity Australia currently operates in NSW, QLD, VIC and SA.

Hair Aid Inc.

Hair Aid Community Cuts (HACCs) are run around Australia all year long. This is a free service where volunteer Hair dressers work with organisations that are already supporting people in need in our communities. We work with organisations are supporting those experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, migrant groups, long-term unemployed, or those just experiencing a tough time. Our volunteer hairdressers attend different locations every 4 to 6 weeks and give up 2 to 3 hours at their time to provide free haircuts for those need. We have 26 locations in Australia currently

Hambledon House Community Centre - Cairns Regional Council

The Hambledon House Community Centre, located in Edmonton in Cairns, provides activities, programs and supports for children and families. In partnership with local services and community groups, the centre delivers activities that promote social connectedness and are a universal access point for individuals and families to get help and support.

Hampton Park Primary School

Hampton Park Primary originally opened in 1955. The school is located in pleasant tree filled grounds with ovals, play areas and equipment for all age levels. There is an Early Childhood building that was built in 2010 giving rooms for the Kindergarten and two Pre Primary classes. Future plans are to build a nature based playground.

The school has a strong focus on explicit teaching, in particular the numeracy and literacy areas. Staff monitor student progress to ensure all children are achieving at their personal best.

There are various sporting facilities at the school including a large oval, two new fully enclosed basketball/ netball courts plus an enclosed undercover area. The school also boasts a well - equipped music room and plans are in place to convert the art room into a Science/Art room. The school offers Mandarin lessons for Years 1-6.

Hands Off Foundation

Hands Off Foundation is a local charity servicing Eastern, South Eastern, Inner City Victoria, as well as the Mornington Peninsula. We provide support to survivors of sexual assault and family violence. We provide financial assistance for groceries, clothing, petrol, school supplies, social activities, self care activities, gym memberships, homewares etc - essentially anything that may assist them with healing. We accompany each request for financial assistance with a care package that contains mindfulness items, self care items, anxiety relievers, hygiene products etc - i.e. mindfulness colouring, writing journals, soft blankets, toiletries, sudoku books, crosswords, jigsaw puzzles, fidget cubes/spinners, stress balls, wallets, drink bottles, face masks, toys, teddy bears - the list goes on! We are linked in with government organisations including Centre Against Sexual Assault (CASA), Monash Health, Sacred Heart Mission and Salvation Army, and this is where we get all of our referrals

For the last seven years, Harman Foundation has been assisting Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) Australians battling their unique struggle. We serve them by providing support services to victims of domestic violence and family hardships, running a Women and their children refuge , Food drives and essentials through our 24/7 Help Line 1800 116 675. We are striving to alleviate human suffering caused by death and trauma, incarceration, mental health, disability and poverty. We offer multifaith Chaplaincy services to the NSW prison and local hospitals.

Harmony Primary School

Within the Harmony Primary School community there a quite a few families who are marginalised, and who are socially and economically vulnerable. Many of these families have a single parent looking after 3 or 4 children. Two families have a parent in prison, and four families have recently experienced the death of one parent. Two families currently have a parent battling serious cancer which has drastically reduced their income.

Harvest Rain Christian Care

We are a not-for-profit community organisation. Recently we have been a recovery centre for flood affected people in the Ipswich Qld community providing hot meals, lunch packs and food hampers to flooded areas. Items such as toiletries, second hand clothing, furniture and white goods which were so generously donated by many of our local supporters, were able to be distributed to those affected. Our regular services involve a food co-op providing low cost food hampers with free bread, fruit and veg when available. It is our intention to continue assisting as many disadvantaged people as possible.

HARA offers access to counselling support, critical incident debriefing and group counselling. As well as this, HARA supports the community hub leaders and recovery teams to help manage vicarious trauma, team resilience, equip them to further support their community and collaborate for the best support for the community. HARA's mantra is to meet people where they are, both physically and emotionally. HARA offers outreach support to struggling individuals to ensure participants feel safe and to ensure those less inclined to access support services have more opportunity including rural and remote communities and indigenous communities. HARA also offers a range of groups catered to each individual community and their changing needs during the recovery process.

HeartKids is the only national not-for-profit organisation solely focused on supporting and advocating for all people impacted by congenital or childhood acquired heart disease, one of the largest causes of infant death in Australia.
Our support is a commitment for life because there is no known
cure. People with congenital heart disease face unique challenges throughout their entire life.

Helem Yumba

Helem Yumba is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander place of Healing We deliver to our people who are caught up in the cycle of violence, alcohol and drug addictions and family dysfunction. We offer services with our team of Counselors across Domestic Violence Mental Health Alcohol and Drugs

Hello Initiative

Provides support to young people (aged 10-17) who are engaged in the WA criminal justice system. Our major project addresses digital literacy and connects young people to services via a mobile phone and mobile credit. We also deliver a food relieve program at the Perth Children's Court, as well as a youth advisory council and some work in industry development.

Helping Out People Everywhere Inc

HOPE Inc is a community service providing practical support to people experiencing crisis across the Perth Metropolitan area. HOPE operates a day centre where people are able to access face to face support, practical comfort items and light refreshments as well as access to our food relief and emergency financial assistance programs.

HelpingACT

HelpingACT helps all indiscriminately with special emphasis on helping homeless, refugees, asylum seekers, international students, and those in culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities who struggle to find the support they need through other avenues.

This involvement has included financial contributions (in the 2020-2021 financial year we received around $25,000 worth of small donations), food and goods and volunteer hours (we have a network of over 40 Helpers).

Our beneficiaries are whoever call out for help, either through our network or contacting us via email, phone or our website form. We don’t ask any questions or challenge whether they “qualify”. If they ask for help, we help.

Hepatitis ACT is the ACT’s community hepatitis organisation. We work to help prevent hepatitis transmission in our community and reduce the impacts for people affected. This website provides information about viral hepatitis and the programs, resources and supports available to the ACT community.

Hepatitis Queensland

A Queensland free from the effects of viral hepatitis. Hepatitis Queensland is an incorporated, community based, consumer focused, non-government organisation which recognises the diversity of, and represents, the interests of people affected by, or at risk of viral hepatitis. To provide a holistic, innovative and pro-active response to the challenges confronting people directly and indirectly affected by viral hepatitis.

Hepatitis SA is a community-based organisation providing information and services to South Australians affected by hepatitis B and C.

The Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre is a place where members of our community can meet for friendship, information, support, action on a community issue, self-development, community involvement, or to access visiting or resident services.

The Neighbourhood Centre is more than bricks & mortar. It is a building, but it is also the combination of the efforts of many people, paid & unpaid, who have energy, enthusiasm, interest, a sense of caring, perseverance, a willingness to change, the capacity to stay in touch with local people, awareness of the
needs of our community and a conviction that the Centre is an important tool in achieving people’s control over their own lives.
