Lillian Howell Project Inc

The Lillian Howell Project (Lillian's), founded in 1988, is a specialist homelessness service providing medium to long term 24-hour, on-site gender specific supported housing for up to 13 young women and girls from the ages of 13 to 17 years.

Our approach is one that is underpinned by trauma informed care in a safe and secure setting that builds the capacity of the young women through modelling reliable and consistent behaviours. We pride ourselves in setting a benchmark in high quality, relational based care.

Lillian’s allows the young women and girls to re-establish trust and assuredness, supporting them to complete or further their education, gain employment and progress to independent living.

Over time, we have supported many young women - from those escaping family and domestic violence, to those who have experienced trauma, abuse and neglect - to heal, flourish and break the cycle of homelessness.

Lily House

Lily House is a supported accommodation services for young women and their infant children who may be homeless, escaping domestic violence or have recovered from addiction.

Lily House also focuses on young, pregnant women requiring assistance. We provide support enabling mums to give birth to their babies in a loving and save environment, aiding them to establish themselves in the community with the basic skills and support needed to raise a child.

Lily House is based on Christian values and a strength-based approach which aims to bring wholeness to women from all walks of life. The in-house program is holistic, person centered and focuses on mental, emotional, spiritual, social and physical health. We offer women the chance to improve their life and the lives of their children.

Lilydale Baptist Church - The Mustard Tree

The Mustard Tree Op Shop and Cafe is a community ministry of the Lilydale Baptist Church. The Mustard Tree offers comfort, care and community to all. Reaching out to the community with care and provision for physical, emotional and spiritual needs. Our foodbank offers groceries and household to those in need at no charge. We run a community lunch weekly that enables all to meet for a free meal and friendship. Our cafe strives to offer homecooked meals, coffee and cakes at an affordable price and our op shop not only provides to those in need but the proceeds all go back into our community care programs.

Lions Club of Geurie is the managing lions club for drought disaster relief in our district which covers 1/3 of the state of New South Wales. We have been assisting farmers in drought for almost 2 1/2 years To date we have donated over 15,000 bales of hay, food hampers, supermarket cash cards, fuel cards, dog food, lick blocks, clothing and bottled soft drinks and water. We have distributed in excess of $4 million dollars to date and hold 2 hay distribution days each month when farmers receive the items mentioned above.

Our current services has seen an increase in demand for food rescue, emergency relief vouchers, family support services - mental health support, social isolation and aged support, disability services and young people engagement. We are working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and the CALD community to foster integration and a sense of connectedness. We have a community hub in Bowenfels where we reach out to the local community by providing a homework centre, weekly women's morning tea, food rescue, monthly BBQ's for young people and our sports scholarship programs. Loop Foundation

Loop is a WA social enterprise and Australia’s first corporate upcycling company. Loop was founded in 2017 to minimise corporate textile waste and create meaningful social
impact in Australia. Loop’s mission is to reduce the 800,000 tonnes of textiles that Australia sends to landfills each year and to create training and employment opportunities for people living with disadvantages.

We work with companies to develop unique and innovative programs to deal with redundant
uniforms – diverting them from landfills and upcycling them into new, useful products, such as tote
bags, duffle bags, hats, backpacks and much more. Loop supports new migrants and refugees, those in the justice system, living with a disability, suffering from mental illness, victims of domestic violence, the homeless and older Australians.

Lou’s Place is a women’s daytime community drop-in and crisis service located in Redfern. Lou’s Place is a safe place for women and offers a range of free supports, services, and group activities, as well as drop-in and referral assistance where no appointment is necessary. Lou’s Place provides a supportive context for women to tackle life’s challenges by offering services that help them rebuild self–respect, stability, and security in their lives. Our safe environment allows women the opportunity to consider their options, imagine a different life and take steps to build it.

Love in Action Broadford Incorporated

Each week we provide food, toiletries and cleaning goods to homeless and struggling people in our area.
Each Friday our volunteers make up boxes of fruit and vegetables for people who have made an appointment. They come in and choose items from the pantry stock, then take their fresh boxes. These people have been assessed as needy by the Ececutive of Love in Action Broadford. WE ask them to come in as that means they need to get up, get dressed and come into the Centre. Many of these have had their mental health improved as a result and are now volunteering to help us out regularly. If needed, we do deliver-people who are sick, who don't have a car etc. A cup of tea and a sit down with others usually takes place. At times we have items to give out free as well. WE give Easter, Christmas, gifts and supply the children with school stationery. WE do make sure they have connected with other support systems, that their rent taken out of their pension so they don't get behind with rent.

Mackillop Family Services - Darwin

In Darwin, Mackillop Family Services offers the Family Support Service via outreach, which works with vulnerable families involved in the child protection system to help keep children living safely at home or to reunify children safely to their parents care after a period of time in out of home care.

Families may be dealing with complex issues such as domestic violence, housing instability, school truancy, substance abuse, poor mental or physical health, parenting challenges, relationship difficulties, disability, and youth justice.

Macquarie Home Stay is your home away from home when you need to come to Dubbo to seek medical treatment at Dubbo Hospital. Established by a group of community members who saw the need for low cost but not low quality, affordable accommodation to be provided, it ensures the cost of accommodation is not a hindrance to seeking treatment when you have to attend Dubbo Hospital. Perhaps it’s the exciting time in a family with the arrival of a child, perhaps there’s a small procedure to be done in day surgery, the difficult time where an accident has occurred and a family member has been rushed to Dubbo Hospital, there’s many reasons for needing to attend Dubbo Hospital, and that’s why we are here to support you.

Macquarie Home Stay has been established for one purpose - to provide patients and their partner or carer with accommodation while preparing for or post treatment at Dubbo Hospital.

Maddie Riewoldt's Vision

Maddie's Vision aims to find a cure so that all people diagnosed with Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes get to have good quality of lives.
Founded in June 2015 by the Riewoldt Family, the aim is to understand more about Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes through medical research.
To achieve better outcomes, and ultimately find a cure, we work with our highly reputable Scientific Advisory Committee to continue to develop a national medical research strategy.
Since inception in 2015, Maddie's Vision has raised over $10 million in committed funds and supported 31 medical research projects in partnership with medical research institutes, hospitals and universities across Australia.
In 2019, our Telehealth Nurse support service was established and is available for patients, carers, families, friends and health professionals.

Magic Moments Foundation - Brisbane Basket Brigade

The Brisbane Basket Brigade serves the greater Brisbane metropolitan area and has been in existence for more than 15 years. In 2022 we have a Committee of 13 people assisting to make it the biggest and best year yet. Each year we have been successful in providing baskets of food and presents to people in need at Christmas. We are always seeking more volunteers for Packing Day, donations of goods and food for packing and presents, and donations of funds.

Make a Difference Dingley Village Inc

Established in 1984 Make a Difference was led by the local community, to support the local community.

The pandemic has had a dramatic effect on families experiencing crisis. Issues brought to our door include family breakdowns, financial crisis, disabled, mental health, wellbeing of children, homelessness and poverty.

We provide practical assistance:
- Grocery vouchers
- Fuel cards
- Pharmacy scripts
- Utility bill payments
- Education costs
- Financial counselling
- Linkages to mental health providers
- Sleeping bags for the homeless
- Food items (when donated)
- General counselling (from our family therapist)
- Information that provides people with a sense of hope for the future

Make a Difference PMQ provide emergency assistance in times of need and we connect with social services to restore dignity, pride and hope in the most vulnerable members of our community. In this we aim to be locals supporting locals.

Mallacoota and District Recovery Association

MADRA was established to ensure the needs, wants and aspirations of our community are considered as part of the recovery process following the 2019-20 bushfires. We are a voice for our community.

We play an active role in community-led recovery by:

- encouraging community involvement in the recovery and rebuilding process
- identifying and prioritising the needs of Mallacoota and District and assisting in the recovery and rebuilding process
- influencing government bodies to meet identified community needs and priorities
- facilitating communication of information between community, government and agencies
- advocating for individuals, families and community groups.
