Raw Potential Canberra
On any given night, an estimated 100 young people in Canberra are homeless. Some “couch-surf” with friends, others face a night on the streets or hidden away in the bushlands. No young person should feel like they have nowhere to go.
Raw Potential (previously YouthCare) actively provides outreach services to young people (12 to 25 years) at risk, in an effort to help those facing homelessness and violence.
We offer after hours support and a non-judgmental approach to helping those in need.
We go out into the community and engage with young people who cannot, or will not, access services, working with them over time to re-connect them to mainstream society.

Rebuild Pappinbarra
Since 2017, Rebuild Pappinbarra (consisting of mostly Heather Smith and Lisa McLeod in volunteer capacities) have been supporting our small rural community through natural disasters. In 2017 we had catastrophic bushfires, in 2018/2019 drought, at the end of 2019 we had the Black Summer bushfires and now in 2021 we have experienced the worst flooding in recorded history through our valley.
While our city based neighbours in surrounding areas have received recognition and support for what these floods have done to them, our rural community (and many others like us) are suffering from lack of exposure and understanding of our needs.
Our community is struggling with disaster after disaster, and we are seeking to bring back some positives by getting some of the things they need donated by people who are willing to contribute via Givit.
