Stride Mental Health - Garran

The South Canberra SUSD Facility is residential facility which provides a home-like environment to up to 6 adults aged 18 to 65 years for a period of 14 days The facility operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. SUSD is designed for individuals whose treatment and recovery is better suited to short term (up to 14 days) intensive treatment in a rehabilitative setting. Residents will come to the Facility after being in in-patient care (Step Down) and also will be referred as an alternative to ED or in-patient settings (Step Up)

Strong Nation Community provides a range of services including EAPA vouchers for electricity and gas accounts. Emergency relief hampers. SHS (Specialist Homelessness Services) supporting families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. As well as Early Years Family Support, helping families experiencing difficulties who have at least one child under 3 years of age. Strong Women Talking - Marigum Mubi Yangu Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporation

Strong women talking is a Domestic and Family Violence prevention program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders based in north Brisbane. we Educate, Equip and Empower women and their families through an 8-week healing journey and follow up groups. We also do a lot of community-based events to educate the wider community about domestic violence and the impacts it has. We cater food and beverages to the ladies, provide transport and support in the most culturally appropriate manner. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women are over-represented in national violence statistics.

Substation 33

Substation33 is a YFS social enterprise based in the Logan suburb of Kingston. Substation33 opened its doors in January 2013 as an electronic waste recycling centre, providing a workplace where volunteers and employees gain confidence and skills for the transition to sustainable employment. Its purpose is to provide training and employment opportunities through the recycling of electronic waste.

More recently, Substation33 has started an Innovation Lab and has designed and developed a number of products for commercial, social and educational purposes. These included Flooded Road Smart Warning Signs, Electric ‘e-bikes’, 3D printers, a vertical garden monitoring system, to name just a few. These projects provide an opportunity for up-cycling and e-waste diversion from land-fill, which has environmental benefits, and skills development and transfer between professional mentors and volunteers, students and people seeking to return to the workforce, which provides social and economic benefits to the community.

Sunrise Way Rehabilitation Limited

Guided by the values of dignity, mutual respect, and personal responsibility, Toowoomba's Sunrise Way Rehab facilitates a 16 week drug and alcohol residential rehabilitation program that enables people to recover, and develop knowledge, skills and strategies to avoid relapse. Our transition house provides the second stage. For up to 6 months it provides a safe space to continue to recover, while learning life skills, volunteering, accessing study and work experience and building new community connections.
Drug and alcohol addiction does not discriminate, and Sunrise Way is providing a much needed service to Toowoomba, Darling Downs and South Western Queensland.

Sunshine Coast Mental Health and Addiction Services - Continuing Care Team

The Continuing Care Team offer a free and confidential service specialising in the treatment of people 18 years and over who are affected by mental illness and who would benefit from a multidisciplinary service due to the intensive or complex nature of the care required. The majority of CCT consumers experience moderate to severe impairment in functioning due to mental illness and have difficulty accessing and maintaining psychosocial supports which facilitate community inclusion and maintain social functioning.

Support Groups Queensland

We provide support to peer support groups, who meet to improve each other's mental health and wellbeing.
We connect the public to support groups to improve their health and wellbeing. We list over 1200 groups that people can join and share their lived experience of their own health issue, whether that is cancer, grief, mental health or any other serious health condition. We assist support groups to operate and assist new ones to start. Most patient-led support groups in Australia are run by volunteers. They can turn to us for any support - leadership training, venue hire, insurance, best practice information and one-to-one debriefing. Volunteer support group leaders are exceptional people who reach out to others despite their own health concerns, and we focus on supporting them to run their groups all over Queensland.

We promote the benefits of support groups to the community: that people overcome social isolation and connect to others who share their experience, that people have access to new/specific information about their health issue and grow their capacity to self-advocate with the health system.

Many people with serious health challenges face poverty and disadvantage, through not being able to work, caring for others and the expense of multiple health treatments.

Support The Girls Australia is a charity that provides a grassroots framework of action to empower women to escape the cycle of poverty, violence, trauma or multiple structural oppression’s. Transformation of the individual and transformation of the community unfold simultaneously. This call to action starts by ensuring women have dignity and respect by providing them with professionally fitted bras and underwear. Swan City Youth Service

For more than 30 years, Swan City Youth Service has been the open door that the young people of Midland and surrounds, aged between 12 and 25 years, have accessed for life skills, recreation, education, art, music plus a variety of specialty services.

Based in Darwin, TeamHEALTH provides evidence based mental health services, focused on support, recovery and rehabilitation across Darwin, Palmerston and the regional and remote communities of the Northern Territory's Top End. This includes Katherine, Maningrida, and Gunbalanya.

Technology for Ageing and Disability (ACT) Inc (TADACT)

TADACT designs solutions and makes customised assistive equipment which is otherwise unavailable, to meet the needs of and assist people with disabilities of any age and older people to become more independent in their daily lives.

TADACT also modifies commercially available equipment to make it better suit the person’s needs; offers a comprehensive equipment repair service; provides specialised technical advice; and/or refers clients elsewhere if appropriate.
 
TADACT has a team of highly skilled volunteers who donate their time and expertise to provide the quality solutions and modifications to make the work we do possible.  The high quality and performance of any item which TADACT delivers is ensured by our Occupational Therapist and Engineering staff, who oversee the specifications, design, production and modification processes.

Based in Townsville North Queensland, Tec-NQ is a community college, not-for-profit organisation with strong social enterprises. Tec-NQ is a senior school and private registered training organisation (RTO) supporting local industry and regional development by developing innovative trades-based employment pathways.

With a focus on technical trades and professions, Tec-NQ creates employment opportunities for teens who are disengaged or not suited to pursuing academic studies and who may otherwise end up out of school and unemployed.

Tec-NQ provides a unique combination of senior school education, trade training that includes business, technical and technology skills, mentoring support services and access to their strong industry networks. Residential facilities enable rural and remote students to participate in these education and training services and overcome the barrier of distance which is a real issue in North Queensland.

Tecoma Uniting Church runs Food is Free Tecoma assisting the local community with fresh fruit and vegetables, perishable and non-perishable groceries. Community members are encouraged to leave any surplus fruit, vegetables, herbs, seedlings and seeds, and dry goods, and/or take what they need. They are also encouraged to access the FLAME community garden beneath the cupboard and around the side of the church and take fresh produce from there.

Teen Challenge QLD

Teen Challenge QLD assists young men 16-25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness through our Crisis Accommodation. We also operate two residential rehabilitation centres for males and females (16-39) who struggle with life controlling issues such as drug/alcohol addiction, self-harm, depression, abuse, prostitution and other issues. With all our services we aim to bring hope and healing to these young people and to help them re-enter the community with a hope for their future.

Temcare (Christian Brethren Community Care Ltd)

Temcare is a Christian welfare agency that provides a range of welfare services for vulnerable people living in the Melbourne and some outer metropolitan areas. The services include; respite care for children, mentoring for adolescents, and family services support for vulnerable families. Temcare recruits volunteers to provide respite care for children and mentoring for adolescents, and also employs professionally qualified staff to provide casework support services for adolescents and families.

Temple Beth Israel - Project Dignity

Temple Beth Israel is the largest Progressive Jewish Community in Melbourne. Project Dignity is a Tikkun Olam (repairing the world) group focussed on supporting people of refugee and asylum-seeker backgrounds. We do so through partnerships with other religious and community organisations that have a commitment to refugee support. We further this through a range of practical, educational and cultural activities that contribute to breaking down cultural and religious barriers, relieving poverty and disadvantage, and developing shared understandings and a sense of community.

Temple Society Australia - CHAMPION

CHAMPION (Community Hub and Meeting Place in Our Neighbourhood) is a community service established by the Temple Society Australia (TSA). It offers emergency food relief and a host of practical assistance and advisory services to help people get back on their feet.

Tender Funerals is a not-for-profit funeral service that ensures that those experiencing financial hardship/distress are able to access personalised, meaningful and affordable funerals. We also provide community education and empowerment around after death care.

We provide a full range of services across after death care, funeral/celebration arrangements and body disposal options – many based on sustainable principles – which enable you to have a much greater say in how your loved one is treated after death. We encourage practices that promote healing.
