C3 Church Centenary is a church based in the Centenary suburbs of Brisbane, right on the doorstep of some of the most in need suburbs (Darra, Inala, Durack). Through our C3 Cares arm, the church provides a wide range of services including giving finances and food support for families facing financial difficulty, we also conduct classes and training to support familiies in need (e.g. cooking healthy on a budget, marriage health courses) and more. We also provide assistance to emerging issues. For example, following the 2022 floods, the church provided food and assistance to people engaged in cleanup, helped clean multiple flood affected houses, and paid for repairs for a refugee family. Can Assist (Cancer Patients Assistance Society of NSW)
It costs more to have cancer treated when you live in the country. Our mission is to ease this burden. Extra travel and accommodation expenses, combined with other out of pocket medical expenses, can be financially crippling for families, especially when it is the primary income earner undergoing treatment.
Accommodation and travel expenses make up the largest form of our financial assistance (almost 50% for FY 2019), followed by medical expenses at 42%, the remainder being utilities and some bespoke assistance categories.
We operate in 55 branches in country NSW – from as far north as Moree, as far south as the Bega Valley and west through to Nyngan, Dubbo and Balranald, we have close to 3,000 member volunteers. Every dollar raised local is spent local. We assist in over 8,000 requests annually.

Cancer Patients Foundation - Look Good Feel Better
Look Good Feel Better is a free national community service program, run by the Cancer Patients Foundation, dedicated to teaching cancer patients how to manage the appearance and physical related side-effects caused by treatment for any type of cancer. Women, men and teens participate in practical workshops which cover skincare, make-up, headwear, physical activity and overall wellbeing, leaving them empowered and ready to face their diagnosis.
Since 1990, Look Good Feel Better has been the only charity to support over 150,000 cancer patients with the appearance related side effects of treatment.
All services provided by LGFB have been developed with the purpose of equipping those undergoing cancer treatment with the skills and knowledge needed to face their diagnosis with confidence.

Cancer Wellness Support
Cancer Wellness Support, a non-profit, non-denominational charitable organisation offers a range of complementary therapies to assist and support individuals and their families throughout their cancer experience. These therapies are not intended to replace recommended medical interventions, but to mitigate some of the negative aspects of cancer and its treatment and minimise some of the residual effects, such as lymphoedema.
Cancer Wellness Support also offers lifestyle education and group support experiences for its members, which encourage a healthy approach to recovery and wellness.

Capital Region Community Services - Youth Services
The Belconnen Youth Centre is home to the CRCS Youth Services team, which coordinates a range of activities and services for young people aged 12-25.
The Belconnen Youth Centre is open from Monday to Friday from 10 am-6 pm. Young people can drop by and use the space either to relax, study, or catch up with our team. In the case we are offsite and the youth centre is closed, we usually post an update on our social media and have information posted on our front door. During ACT public school breaks, the Youth Services team operates the Youth School Holiday Program, which provides free activities for young people.

Citizen Advocacy is a community based movement which recognises, promotes and protects the welfare and interests of people who have disabilities. Care Kits for Kids Qld are all volunteers who together with community create Care Kits for Qld children in need.
We provide free Care Kits (new backpacks containing 2 days' new clothing, toiletries, education supplies, toys, books and hand crafted quilt or wrap to Qld children in need through Qld child protection, Qld children's services, foster & kinship care, domestic violence, indigenous and services in schools.
We create and transport our Care Kits through community generosity: in-kind and financial donations, grants and fundraising.
In the first 6 months of 2024 we've already distributed 2,000 Care Kits. Donations turnover is very high.

Caretakers Cottage provides support, information and accommodation to young people aged between 13 and 25 years of age through 2 main programs:
Caretakers Cottage Youth Refuge -accommodates up to 10 young people aged between 13 and 18 years of age with 24 hour support for a period of up to 3 months.
Options Youth Housing is the semi-independent accommodation program for up to 16 young people aged between 16 and 25 years of age for a period of 18-24 months. Options provides case management support, living skills development and general support to young people who are unable to return to their family home, preparing them to live independently.

Carinity Education Southside is an independent special assistance school for young, disengaged women and young mums, we accept every young woman for who they are. Giving vulnerable young women a genuine chance at education. Each grade has a youth worker available for additional assistance in and out of the classroom. They act as a supportive guide to provide ready access to help and direction. Our teachers and staff are trained in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention. This trauma-informed approach to education helps students develop strategies to manage trauma and become more resilient. Some other services we provide for our students: - Lunch is provided to the students daily, A subsidised Early Learning Centre is available for young mothers, an optional, subsidised uniform is available, a gymnasium is available for our students to use. Carinity (previously Queensland Baptist Care) operates and maintains a range of programs based at the community centre in Boonah. We provide and host activities based at the community centre in the local community and surrounds, which promote social inclusion and community engagement.

We have a very high proportion of families living in public housing, and about 95% of families with a language background other than English, with language groups from the Horn of Africa being our main language groups.

Todays focus will be regarding our culture club, which is run weekly across the three campus' giving all student the opportunity to participate in cultural crafts, sports activities and events. Caroline Chisholm recognises that the opportunity to participate and engage in culture, supports social and emotional wellbeing, provides a sense of belonging and connection for our Indigenous students, families and staff.
Since our culture club has started there has been a real sense of community and our students have now formed a cultural Integrity team who are responsible for making the decisions about what kinds of activities, excursions, events and spaces they'd like to participate in and see throughout our school. This provides the students with a voice and develops leadership skills. It's been a great benefit to the students as well as the school itself.

We have 2 Services. The Specialist Homelessness Service assists both single people and families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness with advocacy and information and case management. There is accommodation through the refuge (women and children only), Supported Accommodation (single people and families) and transitional properties (single people and families). They also provide outreach support and may assist with emergency relief and brokerage so certain items.
The Domestic Violence program assists women who have or are experiencing domestic violence to make Police reports, take out AVOs, assist with safety planning and provide support at court through the Hunter Valley Women's Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Service, provide case management through the Staying Home Leaving Violence program.

By connecting with a relevant support organisastion, your needs can be assessed and verified, and you can receive tailored support, which may include the organisation requesting items or services on your behalf through GIVIT.
The support organisation that is assisting you can request a range of donated items and services through GIVIT on your behalf. This may include furniture, household items, whitegoods and appliances. You can also request baby items, toiletries, toys and educational supplies, kid’s or adult’s clothing, digital devices like mobile phones or laptops.
GIVIT may also be able to help you buy groceries, fuel or medication in the form of vouchers. You can check our ‘What’s needed’ list for an idea of what can be requested through GIVIT.
Your requests may be filled through a donor donating the money needed to purchase the item new, or through a donor donating the actual item or service.
Your support organisation can also request time and skills such as tradespeople, cleaners, health and social support, tutoring and transport assistance.
