How to get help through GIVIT
To access donated items or services through GIVIT, please connect with a support organisation registered with GIVIT that can assess your needs and provide assistance. This organisation can then place a request on GIVIT on your behalf. Click here for more information on how to get support through GIVIT.

We are a very active Club involved in both community and international projects. We have provided anything from socks to blankets, from mobility vehicles to breast cancer screening equipment. The Rotary Club of Sydney Darling Harbour is a fun, dynamic and inclusive club that does some amazing work in the community at a local, national and international level and are focused on giving a ‘hand up’ rather than a ‘hand out.’
In terms of our demographic, we have quite a range of ages, some ‘less experienced’ young professional members, as well as several ‘more experienced’ Rotarians who have a wealth of knowledge and are really great mentors to those who are new to Rotary.
Typical annual projects include (but are not limited to): Boxing Day lunch for the homeless in Sydney, donating clothes/laundry detergent to The Station; a Sewing School for women in Nepal; scholarships for women at risk; building water wells and toilets in India; tree planting with Sydney City Rotaract; clothes collection and fundraiser for Dress for Success; four separate BBQ fundraisers; sponsoring young people to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards and much more.

The Rotary club of Yarraville is a community service organisation supporting local groups, businesses and people in our area and is a small, diverse and dynamic Club focusing on local community issues; we are a group of locals from within and around the Yarraville area with a mix of men and women - people of different ages and nationalities with one thing in common. We love to make a difference in the community and have fun doing it. This is a family friendly young club where you can have a say in projects and get involved in local as well as larger district projects.
Ruah Community Services - Geraldton
We offer psycho social recovery for individuals who are living with a severe and persistent mental health diagnosis and require community support.
We also provide short term respite accommodation for those who are struggling with their mental health or are at risk of/or are homeless. We support people to access longer term accommodation, it is these people who often need access to furniture and white goods to successfully live independent and fulfilling lives.

Ruah Community Services - Perth
Today, Ruah is a independent, not-for-profit community service. In the spirit of our founders, we are still taking bold strides to end poverty and social disadvantage.
Ruah operates more than 20 different programs that combine to provide wraparound support for our clients. Service delivery is integrated across our core focus areas helping people deal with the trauma of homelessness, family violence and chronic mental illness. We also provide legal advice, support, and advocacy in the areas of mental health law, care and protection, family and domestic law and homelessness.
Our hard-working and committed team of 260 staff is based across 12 locations in Perth, Geraldton and Albany They have a deep understanding and empathy, often based on their own lived experience, of the challenges life can throw at us, the hard road to recovery, and what it takes to build a new future.

Provides psychosocial supports to people in the Perth metro area , experiencing severe and persistent mental illness.
Ruah assists some of our most vulnerable people in the community around their mental health , tenancy support , family support and often budgeting and connection for people experiencing poverty.
Rural Adversity Mental Health Program
The Rural Adversity Mental Health Program (RAMHP) is a major project of the Centre for Rural and Remote Mental Health (CRRMH). RAMHP has 19 Coordinators based across regional, rural and remote NSW who inform, educate and connect individuals, communities and workplaces with appropriate services and programs.
Rural Outreach & Support Service
Rural Outreach & Support Service strives to provide a safe, secure supportive environment for men, women, families and youth to undertake free life skills workshops, as well as receive support advocacy, referral and advice.
Individual consultations or life skills workshops to provide the most appropriate assistance.
During these unprecedented times of Drought and Fire we have been supporting many people that we would not normally see and have been providing drought and fire relief, information and referral. Now COVID-19 has added yet another dynamic.
We run support groups for Men, Women and LGBTIQ participants.
Also offering Domestic Violence, Apprehended Violence Order Education, Housing Information, Relationship, Budget, Anger Management and Well-Being supports.

Sacred Heart Mission
Our warm, welcoming Dining Hall is the heart of the Mission, where hundreds of people who are experiencing homelessness and social disadvantage come to share a community meal and engage with our services, 365 days a year. Everyone is welcome to drop in for a free meal today.

SAGE Community Services
Parramatta/Holroyd Family Support Inc. (PHFS) is a community based family support service for children, women and families in the Parramatta and Cumberland local government areas.
We provide an efficient, preventative service to our families who seek support from Parramatta/Holroyd Family Support Inc. to improve their well-being. We address issues such as child development and behaviour, parenting strategies, strengthening parent / child relationships, social isolation and family violence.
Parramatta/Holroyd Family Support Inc. provides services for families from all cultural backgrounds and family types. These families must have dependent children under 12 years of age living at home.
Parramatta Holroyd Family Support also provides support to women over 18 years old (with or without violence) who have left domestic violence to remain in their home or a home of their choice through the Staying Home Leaving Violence Program.

Our case management has a safety focus and is led by individual needs. We can provide referrals and link individuals with other services including legal, housing, health and well-being and financial support.

The Sandgate and Bracken Ridge Action Group Incorporated, known as SANDBAG Inc. is an independent community based organisation that has been working within the Brisbane North Community for the past 25 years.

Sapphire Life Church - Merimbula Community Square
Sapphire Life Opportunities (SLO) is a tier 1 DGR status charity formed in July 2019 with the specific purpose of addressing social isolation in the Sapphire Coast region and beyond. In February 2020 during the Black Summer Bushfires, SLO launched the SLO Community Square - a disaster relief shop providing non-perishable food, clothing and bedding for everyone in the Sapphire Coast community, but particularly those who were fire affected.
The SLO Community Square is at 78 Main Street Merimbula and operates Monday to Saturday from 10am to 2pm. It is now a permanent community food pantry with the philosophy "take what you NEED, GIVE what you can." Everyone in the community is invited to use the community pantry with the proceeds going towards the charity's mission of addressing social isolation and helping those in need.

To receive donated items, services or vouchers through GIVIT, you must first connect with a relevant support organisation who can assess your needs and provide assistance. This organisation can then place a request(s) on GIVIT on your behalf.

Thousands of organisations across Australia are registered with GIVIT, working across a variety of causes, hardships and demographics. Our priority is to respect and maintain the privacy, safety, dignity and independence of people reaching out for help. By connecting with a relevant support organisastion, your needs can be assessed and verified, and you can receive tailored support, which may include the organisation requesting items or services on your behalf through GIVIT.
The support organisation that is assisting you can request a range of donated items and services through GIVIT on your behalf. This may include furniture, household items, whitegoods and appliances. You can also request baby items, toiletries, toys and educational supplies, kid’s or adult’s clothing, digital devices like mobile phones or laptops.
GIVIT may also be able to help you buy groceries, fuel or medication in the form of vouchers. You can check our ‘What’s needed’ list for an idea of what can be requested through GIVIT.
Your requests may be filled through a donor donating the money needed to purchase the item new, or through a donor donating the actual item or service.
Your support organisation can also request time and skills such as tradespeople, cleaners, health and social support, tutoring and transport assistance.

We recommend you speak with the support organisation that you’re working with. They may not be registered with GIVIT, or they may not have placed your request yet.
Please note that there is no guarantee that your request for donated items or services will be met. We’d love to meet every request placed on GIVIT, but your request being filled is dependent on donation(s) being made by donor(s).

If a natural disaster or emergency event has impacted you, please visit your state or territory government’s disaster support page to see what assistance is available, including disaster payments, grants and financial aid.

Financial hardship
The National Debt Helpine provides free, independent and confidential financial counselling via phone or live chat, Monday to Friday. You can call them on 1800 007 007.
Mob Strong Debt Helpline is a free advice service about money matters for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. They can be contacted on 1800 808 488, Monday to Friday.

Mental health, depression or anxiety
If you or someone else’s life is in danger, call Triple Zero 000.
You can access 24/7 crisis support by calling Lifeline on 13 11 14. You can also contact Lifeline via text or online chat.
You can talk to a counsellor 24/7 through Beyond Blue. You can also access brief counselling with Beyond Blue via online chat.
If you’re a young person aged 12-25, you can talk to a trained clinician, you can contact Headspace 7 days a week between 9am and 1pm by calling 1800 650 890 or via online chat.
First Nations Australians
If you’re a First Nations Australian and you are going through a tough time, you can call 13YARN (13 92 76) to talk with an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander crisis supporter.
Children or young people experiencing hardship
Children and young people aged 5 – 25 can access support through Kids Helpline by calling 1800 55 1800 or through online chat 24/7.
People living with disability
The Disability Gateway is an Australian Government service to help people with disability, their family, friends and carers find the support they need. They can be contacted on 1800 643 787, Monday to Friday.
Refugees and asylum seekers
