Katherine Doorways Hub ("The Hub") is a drop-in centre and community space supporting people who are experiencing homelessness, or at-risk of homelessness, or are "rough sleepers".

The Hub provides a safe space for clients to seek respite, shelter and access dignity services, such as showers, washing machines and dryers. It is also a space where our clients have access to support services responding to their needs.

The Salvation Army Youth Outreach Service Lawnton, works with disadvantaged and at risk young people aged 12-25 years old, needing support with a variety of life issues, such as homelessness, drug & alcohol support, advocacy & justice support, an independent non-state school and learner licence/driving hours support.

The Samaritans (Western Australia) Limited

Our organisation offers brief emotional support to people. We currently operate two services, our phone lines and our new in-person service, Luminos (Youth Suicide Sanctuary). This is a service for young people, aged between 16-24 who are experiencing ongoing thoughts of suicide.

The service will be a 24/7 short-stay residential service (4 nights, 5 days) where they will be offered support by Volunteer Support Counsellors, Peer Workers, Support Coordinators, our Clinical Team lead, and Volunteer Coordinator. This support will be both in the form of the brief counselling provided by all of the above; and structured and unstructured group/individual activities. The structured activities will focus on teaching skills aligned with DBT (distress tolerance, mindfulness, and emotion regulation).

Founded in direct response to the devastating bushfires Mallacoota endured on New Year’s Eve 2019/2020, 'The Sanctuary' has emerged as an indispensable aspect of Mallacoota's community, representative and support services. We are a youth directed youth group made up of members aged 12 - 25 and are open to any youth in Mallacoota or involved in our community and online networks.

The Sanctuary provides teenagers and young adults with a platform to have our voices heard in this community and our ongoing recovery. It is a place where we can feel safe to express themselves and explore ideas. Mallacoota’s youth use the space to study, play music, make art, play games, organise programs and events, run workshops and participate as a representative voice in the community.
