Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency - Wangaratta

The principal activities are to provide family and child welfare, family aid and strengthening and reunification services within the Aboriginal community. In so doing, the purpose is to strengthen the safety, wellbeing and cultural connectedness of Aboriginal children, individuals and families in their community.

Victorian Aboriginal Community Services Ltd. (VACSAL)

The Victorian Aboriginal Community Services Association Ltd (VACSAL) is a state-wide agency that provides advice to Government on a range of community development issues as well as being a major provider of extensive services to the Aboriginal community in both the metropolitan and some regional communities. GIVIT services will be utilized in the newly established Local Justice Cultural and Therapeutic program where Koori individuals under correctional orders or at risk of reoffending will be provided essential life skills through culturally sensitive activities and camps. These include arts and crafts workshops, yarning circles, storytelling and more. Items for basic self care and sanitation will be provided to the individuals to assist with their personal lives.

Victorian Council of Churches Emergencies Ministry

Non-for-profit, multi faith volunteer organisation providing psychological first aid and emotional spiritual care to members of the community across Victoria in times of crises. Working in the relief and recovery emergency management space.

Vietnamese Community in Australia (QLD Chapter)

The Vietnamese Community in Australia - Queensland Chapter Inc. (VCA-QLD) is a community association. It was formed since 1979 but was formally incorporated in February 1988. The VCA-QLD together with similar associations in other states, are members of the national body: the Vietnamese Community in Australia.

With 40 years of resettlement in Australia and current population estimated at 18,000 people, the composition of our community has experienced some changes such as the emergence of the second generation, being children of the original refugees, growing up and makes significant presence in the area of skilled labour, professionals and businesses … of the Australian society; and recently, freedom loving professional/tradesperson migrants from Vietnam is also added as a small proportion to our community.

Our association is the peak organisation representing the Vietnamese community, it actually covers more than 20 different groups, and some are incorporated some are not, in the areas of Vietnamese ex-servicemen, education, religion, welfare, political etc…

Our goal/mission:

- To promote and preserve the Vietnamese culture and language.
- To promote and develop the self help and solidarity amongst all freedom loving Vietnamese living in Queensland.
- To promote the contribution of the Vietnamese community in Queensland in the economic, political and social strength of the Australian community.
- To promote the friendship between the Vietnamese community and other ethnic communities which share the same objects and purposes.
- To affirm and struggle for the basic human rights and freedom for Vietnamese people.

From an association with mainly self help activities, we have grown into a non-profit service provider, with support programs funded by the Department of Communities, not only for our members but also for the wider community, especially in the Southwest Brisbane Region and its surrounding areas.

Vinnies Kitchen

Vinnies Kitchen is an independent, not for profit, non-denominational frontline organisation providing assistance to the homeless and the most vulnerable people in our local community. Our main aim is to provide a FREE two-course meal 6 days a week to those in need and have done for the past 32 years.
Vinnies Kitchen supplies and serves approximately 200 people per week from the Shires Youth Band Hall at 980 Point Nepean Road Rosebud, run by local volunteers.

Violet Town Action Group

Violet Town Action Group [VTAG] is a group of people drawn from the local community with the common purpose of working to develop and support community activities and initiatives, and to provide a forum which facilitates discussion and decision making for the communities of Violet Town and District.

Violet Town Men's Shed

Violet Town Men's Shed gives men the opportunity to share their stories, discuss hardships, offer advice, over a cuppa and to participate in hands on projects for the community. These projects range in diversity and include nesting boxes for land care groups, furniture restoration for residents or shop fittings for business owners or town beautification. Workshops are also held for community members in the well equipped shed, and regular seminars are presented by health care professionals.

Volunteering North Queensland

VNQ is the leading Volunteer Resource Hub based in Townsville.
We have proudly been established for over 20 years, working with
thousands of volunteers and we currently have 115 member companies.
VNQ connects individuals, corporates and groups of volunteers
with varied volunteer opportunities. Our services extend south to the
Burdekin, north to Hinchinbrook and as far west as Mount Isa.

VNQ is looking to host a first of a kind North Queensland Volunteering Conference for between 200-300 attendees with the aim of upskilling, refreshing and rewarding grassroots volunteers to be held in May 2022, also to align with National Volunteering Week and we are seeking help.

We operate with limited staff, a mix between paid part time employees and volunteer referral officers. Government funding has recently been withdrawn for many organisations in the community services sector and VNQ is one of these. We are re-designing our strategic direction to ensure our longevity.

WA Country Health Service - South West

The Regional Health Service offers two (2) main health facilities at Bunbury and Busselton. The Health Service is also widely supported with a network of smaller hospitals and Multi-Purpose Service (MPS) sites at: Augusta, Boyup Brook, Bridgetown, Collie, Donnybrook, Harvey, Margaret River, Nannup, Northcliffe, Pemberton and Warren.

Waalitj Foundation - Onslow Family Support Program

The Onslow Family Support Program is aimed at Aboriginal families in Onslow and the Bindi Bindi community with the primary focus of improving school attendance and capacity in parents and caregivers.

Local mentors work with the community and local services to provide support to overcome any barriers that may prevent children from regular school attendance. Intensive mentoring is provided to families and covers support for establishing routines, school pick-ups, dealing with departmental agencies, paperwork and medical issues.

WACHS - Great Southern Aboriginal Health Service

Great Southern Aboriginal Health provides free health care services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients in the Lower and Central Great Southern Region. Aboriginal Health Service clinics are located in Albany and Katanning.

The aim of Great Southern Aboriginal Health Service is to support our clients to achieve optimum health with a holistic approach, while we continue to work in partnership with other organisations.

Waddington Primary School is a small school located in a low socio-economic suburb in Perth, WA. Many of our students come to school without basic needs being met and therefore we aim to provide a wrap around support for them offering food in a lunch club, clothing and support services.

Walcha Farmers' Market

Walcha Farmers' Market provide a monthly market in beautiful McHattan Park, Walcha. The market is for the community and visitors to come and enjoy a casual catch up whilst having the option to purchase local food and other local offerings. We also provide free kids activities, live music and demonstrations at our market.

Wananami Remote Community School

Waratah Support Centre (South West Region) Inc

Waratah provides free services to individuals, families and communities across the south west region who are impacted by domestic violence and/or sexual abuse/assault. Our services include adult and children’s trauma-informed counselling, court support and therapeutic group work
Waratah also works alongside police and the Department of Communities to form the provides the Coordinated Response Service that works to address high risk cases of family and domestic violence. The primary prevention team at Waratah provides education in the community, in schools and with staff across many organisations, focussing on consent and healthy relationships.
Waratah’s. Clients are encouraged in a safe, supportive and confidential environment to make their own life decisions. Our staff are trauma-informed and work alongside clients to achieve their goals. We continue to campaign against violence in our community. We remain steadfast in calling out violence and abuse at all levels of our society.

Our centre is a place to:

come with children between 0 to 4 years of age,
participate in early learning playgroups, workshops, information sessions, community events and other activities.

find out about activities and services for families and children in the area. Prepare for a great transition to Kindy.
All programs and services are free. They meet interests of the families and encourage the children’s healthy development. We always focus on nurturing relationships between parents and children.

At our centre parents also find the information they need to be the best parents they can be. We work with other organisations to coordinate the services at the centre, or at surrounding schools when possible, making it easier for families to go to appointments.

A Child Health Nurse is at the centre every day to see children from birth to four years by appointment. A speech pathologist works at the centre part-time.
