Immigrant Women's SpeakOut Association of NSW Inc.

SpeakOut is a leading organisation supporting migrant and refugee women, particularly those experiencing DFSV and/or who are at the risk of homelessness. We provide guidance, direct services and resources to help women make their own decisions, to escape violence, exploitation and discrimination.
We operate crisis accommodation for single migrant women escaping DFSV.
We advocate for migrant women on critical issues such as health, education, employment etc. We engage with government and non-govt organisations to influence policies and drive systemic change.
Through community engagement and capacity building programs, we tackle social isolation, by organizing programs to improve women's mental health and create learning opportunities for them.

Immigrant Women's Support Service

The Immigrant Women's Support Service provided domestic and/or sexual violence support services to a total of 767 women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds for the 2018-2019 financial year. In addition, a total of 207 individuals were assisted with emergency relief to alleviate financial distress.

In Good Faith Foundation

In Good Faith Foundation has provided leading case management and advocacy services to Survivors, families and communities impacted by institutional abuses for over twenty years. Our services also include research and community education, information forums, community development and survivor support through the Melbourne Victims’ Collective. Our small, dedicated team of staff and volunteers co-ordinate warm referrals for mental health care, legal representation, police liaison, social welfare and pastoral support. We also provide expert consultation, policy and practice development to improving outcomes for Survivors.

It's Not Ok Projects

It's Not Ok Projects is an international organisation that fights for human rights and better communities. Our projects exist to restore, educate, equip, and provide hope to the oppressed, the trafficked, the vulnerable, the impoverished, and the at-risk. Current projects include the She Rescue Home (located in Cambodia), Community Care and The Ivory Project. Through Community Care Brisbane, we provide practical assistance to members of the community, including support groups, educational courses, food relief and a community garden. Our outreach extends to the refuges, office s at Armadale , Fremantle, Rockingham. WHFS, Emergency relief either through the ER worker as a one off or through case management if it is to be managed. We have Aboriginal family support and school inclusion program to support Aboriginal children to go to school and support their families. We also have fresh fruit , vegetables and bread on a tuesday. A back to school program with school back packs is available, Christmas hampers and toys. Computer classes, cooking classes, pottery classes, NAIDOC , blankets, Seniors week, disability week depend on the availability of funds.

Jali Local Aboriginal Land Council (LALC) aims to improve, protect and foster the best interests of all Aboriginal persons within the Council’s area and members of the Council.

We have a number of important programs and core areas of work including Social Housing, Agri-Business, Aged Care (Independent Living), Culture & Heritage and Indigenous Protected Areas (land acquisition, use and management).

Recently our community was affected by the floods which severely impacted Cabbage Tree Island, with residents displaced from their homes. We are working towards rebuilding the island so we can bring our community home.

We are committed to delivering high quality early childhood education that enhances the cultural, physical, social, emotional, language and learning development of the children utilizing our services.

Jannawi Family Centre

Jannawi is a specialist child protection service that works with families who have experienced or at risk of experiencing child abuse or neglect. We primarily work with women and children, although we have had some male clients. Our work centers around the most vulnerable experiencing domestic violence, child abuse and neglect. We support families in raising children free from abuse and trauma.
Our services offer therapy and caser management and support such as court support, housing, Centrelink, and parenting.

Jenny's Place

Jenny's Place is a not-for-profit community-based service established in Newcastle in 1977.

We provide direct relief and support to women and children who are experiencing domestic violence and/or homelessness (or are at risk of homelessness).

Our passionate team is committed to keeping women and children in our community safe, housed and free from violence. We seek to empower women through honesty, transparency, equality, compassion and decency. We aim to help our clients break the cycle of violence and live secure lives.

Jenny’s Place offers a range of services to women and children. We operate Women and Children’s Crisis Refuge, Single Women’s Crisis Refuge, Supported Transitional Accommodation, Outreach Homelessness Support Program, and the Domestic Violence Resource Centre.

Jesuit Refugee Service works with people seeking asylum and migrants in vulnerable situations. We offer different services such as casework, emergency relief, employment assistance and material aid referrals. We have the finding safety program that specifically supports migrant women who have experienced or at risk of experiencing Gendered based violence. We have school and community engagement, including leadership programs that empower young refugees and people seeking asylum to advocate for their rights.

Jesus Is Lord Church Canberra Inc

I-Care is developing Jesus Is Lord Church Canberra (JILC) which is a community Christian church based and occupies a building in the Kaleen Plaza within the suburb of in Kaleen.

The aim of the Community Food Bank is to provide low cost or free food to those most in need. It will operate in conjunction with “Foodbank Australia” (the largest food relief organisation in Australia), and will be open to the public several days a week.

We will distribute, at low or no cost, food items to the homeless and the lower socio-economic demographic of Canberra, depending on particular individual circumstances. Items will be collected from the surplus of food suppliers, or from stock that is nearing the end of its recommended shelf life.

Jewish Russian Community Soup Kitchen Ltd. (Souper)

Souper Charity offers free, nutritional meals to lonely individuals, those affected by illness and people in difficult financial situations.

In 2018, Souper Kitchen opened its doors in the heart of St Kilda to provide free, home-style meals to people in need in Melbourne including Holocaust survivors, residents of public housing, victims of family violence, isolated community members, people who recently underwent hospitalisation, people living with disabilities, new migrants and those in challenging financial situations.

During the emergency crisis situations including the recent bushfires and the COVID-19 pandemic, Souper supported the community with regular deliveries of much-needed meals, pantry and grocery items as well as hygiene and household items.

Currently, over 1000 people receive regular support through our food security program, with new requests coming in weekly.

We are a non-profit family centre located in Joondalup, we offer different classes for our locals, and work closely with the children health nurse, all starts autism and aboriginal families.

JSW Training and Community Services

JSW (Jobs South West Inc. ) is a community-based charity. Our services are available to people who are employed, people with disabilities, Aboriginal people, young people not engaged in employment, education or training and mature aged people who are under-employed, in the South West region of Western Australia.
As a Community Operated Registered Training Organisation we deliver nationally accredited training both on and off the job. We work with youth at risk between the ages of 13 - 18 years old providing support services and alternative education programs.

Jubilee Community Care Inc

Jubilee provides aged care support and care to older Australians living in their own homes. This also includes respite care and activities held at our day centre.

Jubilee Housing Inc.

Jubilee Housing Inc is a community housing initiative of the Box Hill and NewHope Baptist churches and South Croydon Anglican church. We have been operating for over 30 years to provide affordable housing for people in our local communities who are unable to secure adequate housing from the private market.

Judge Rainbow Memorial Fund Inc

Rainbow Lodge assists men exiting custody. As a transitional house, we take men direct from custody and our program involves a three month residential stay, where clients are required to participate in our AOD program, consisting of counselling, NA meetings and other mandatory groups. Once clients complete their three month stay the hope is that we have been able to obtain housing for them in the community, where we support them as outreach clients for the next two years. When clients transition from onsite into the community, we assist them with obtaining essential items (white goods, cutlery etc) and this can be challenging.

Junaya Family Development services

Junaya Family Development Services (JFDS) is a non-government, community based organisation providing services for families within Blacktown LGA.

JFDS has a number of programs funded by Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) through the Targeted Early Intervention Program.

Our programs work with families to address some of the challenges that can make caring for kids and managing a family difficult. All of our programs aim to strengthen families with the skills, knowledge, resources and opportunities that help provide children and young people with safe and thriving environments where they can grow and develop to reach their potential.

Our primary role is to support and advocate for individual women and gender diverse people and their children. Our approach is non-judgemental, personalised and evidence-based to empower the people we work with to make lasting change in their lives. We use and develop progressive and creative responses to homelessness, gendered poverty and trauma.
