To access donated items or services through GIVIT, please connect with a support organisation registered with GIVIT that can assess your needs and provide assistance. This organisation can then place a request on GIVIT on your behalf. Click here for more information on how to get support through GIVIT.

Riding for Disabled Seymour

We provide riding lessons to our disabled children and adults in an hour radius of Seymour, Vic. Horses are amazing therapy for disabled participants and some speak for the first time while on the back of a horse.
We raise money to fund our Centre through fundraising events and donations from the community.
We use adaptive equipment for riders who need specialized reins, stirrups, and mounting ramp for wheelchair riders.

Kira House offers 24/7 crisis accommodation for young women aged 14-18years with or without their babies who are escaping FDV or are in crisis.

RiverTracks Inc

RiverTracks offers a lifeline to struggling young people by reconnecting them back to the community and practical learning to help them find employment and life-changing opportunities that create pathways for a better future.

RiverTracks was first inspired by the successful BackTrack program based in Armidale has been established by a group of Tweed Valley youth workers and community members. We run an ongoing program for young people who are disengaging or are already completely disengaged in schooling. We are motivated by a desire to meet the needs of the many young people falling through the net of existing services, and a concern for the alarming rate of suicide, incarceration and mental health issues experienced by our young people. Riverview Community Services

Riverview Community Services is the community care arm of Riverview Church. We exist to provide practical assistance and personal support to those in the local community who are experiencing challenging life circumstances and financial need. We run an Emergency Relief program, providing food aid and food assistance.

Riverview Neighbourhood House Association Inc.

We provide services to vulnerable and disadvantaged people within the Riverview and surrounding community. We also provide the community with free sanitary items for women, and free computer and phone services. ROBWC Inc formally Reaching Out Because We Can … are an organisation that has been helping the families in crisis, homeless and less fortunate communities of Melbourne for over 7 years. We make up ‘You are Special’ food bags each week to be handed out, filled with non-perishable food items. We source and take clothing, toiletries and blankets with our food bags to various suburbs, with the majority in the City of Greater Dandenong.
We also fill houses with white goods, furniture, linen, household items, toiletries and clothing … everything that is needed to make it a home. There has been a huge increase in the number of families coming out of the pandemic, the less fortunate and people with various disabilities: physical, emotional and mental. We take time to chat with those we help and refer them to other agencies and individuals who can further assist them.

Rotary Club of Ballina-on-Richmond

High profile Community Service Club in Ballina which has been serving the Ballina community through COVID and through the latest disastrous flooding. Since the 28th of February BOR has been working non stop in all forms of Flood Crisis assistance. Most recently the club fundraised almost $800,000 to be distributed around Ballina Shire and most recently in Broadwater township and the local rural community. Vouchers were distributed in $500 lots to flood affected residents. We are now holding Community get-togethers so that neighbours and rural communities have the opportunity to meet up for a night of fellowship with a positive speaker helping flood affected residents cope with their current difficult situation.

If you have experienced or are at risk of family and domestic violence and/or sexual assault, contact the National Sexual Assault, Family & Domestic Violence Counselling Line on 1800 RESPECT (1800 737 732). 1800 RESPECT is also contactable via text, online chat or video call and is available 24 hours.

 

Financial hardship

The National Debt Helpine provides free, independent and confidential financial counselling via phone or live chat, Monday to Friday. You can call them on 1800 007 007.

Mob Strong Debt Helpline is a free advice service about money matters for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. They can be contacted on 1800 808 488, Monday to Friday.

If you or someone else’s life is in danger, call Triple Zero 000.

You can access 24/7 crisis support by calling Lifeline on 13 11 14. You can also contact Lifeline via text or online chat.

You can talk to a counsellor 24/7 through Beyond Blue. You can also access brief counselling with Beyond Blue via online chat.

If you’re a young person aged 12-25, you can talk to a trained clinician, you can contact Headspace 7 days a week between 9am and 1pm by calling 1800 650 890 or via online chat.

 

First Nations Australians

If you’re a First Nations Australian and you are going through a tough time, you can call 13YARN (13 92 76) to talk with an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander crisis supporter.

 

Children or young people experiencing hardship

Children and young people aged 5 – 25 can access support through Kids Helpline by calling 1800 55 1800 or through online chat 24/7.

 

People living with disability

The Disability Gateway is an Australian Government service to help people with disability, their family, friends and carers find the support they need. They can be contacted on 1800 643 787, Monday to Friday.

 

Refugees and asylum seekers

If you’re a refugee or asylum seeker and you need help, you can contact the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre on 03 9326 6066 Monday to Friday for support.

 

People struggling with addiction

The National Alcohol and Other Drug Hotline is a 24/7 service that provides free and confidential advice about alcohol and other drugs. You can call them on 1800 250 015.
