Toomelah Local Aboriginal Land Council

Provide services to the local aboriginal communities of Toomelah and Boggabilla in NSW.

Services include local government and community engagement to multiple service providers for these communities as a whole.

We are a non for profit organisation funded by NSWALC to administer aboriginal land rights services to the community.

Toora Women Inc. - Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Day Program

The AOD Day Program is an evidence-based health treatment program for women to help them learn the skills they need to live a full and meaningful life free from alcohol and other drugs. It is an eight-week group program, running three days a week at the premises of Toora AOD Services in Civic ACT.

Tottenham Welfare Council Inc.

The principal objects of The Association are:
The provision of low cost self-care accommodation for elderly people in the Tottenham/Albert district, in particular elderly people who are socially isolated, experiencing poverty, living with a disability or some other form of disadvantage.
Assisting people in the Tottenham and Albert district who are experiencing social or financial disadvantage or other distress, by: a. Surveying the needs of the local community;
b. Making representations to statutory authorities and other organisations on behalf of the community; and
c. Forming partnerships with various statutory authorities and other organisations to deliver solutions to local problems.
To organise, provide and promote exhibitions, meetings, and workshops to the local community, including but not limited to workshops on mental health issues and coping with drought.

Traction for Young People

TRACTION partners with referral agencies, such as schools, community organisations, child safety and youth justice agencies, to empower young people in need.

Traralgon City Church - Tabitha's Closet Van

Tabitha's Closet is a community clothing initiative that offers free clothing for people in need via a mobile van. We currently reach those who are disadvantaged through social, economic, physical or intellectual circumstances. The van currently goes out to Traralgon, Churchill, Morwell, Rosedale and Wurruk in Gippsland Victoria. With the view to expand to more locations. Our aim is to make a noticeable difference to the lives of those in our community who are doing it tough by offering free suitable clothing. This in turn leads to improving their comfort, self-image and employment prospects. Other benefits include the opportunity to rescue second hand clothes from landfill; giving back to the community through volunteering; building connections and support networks for vulnerable people. We are a volunteer led initiative run by Traralgon City Church, who also works together with other community support organisations.

Trek Learning Centre

Trek Learning Centre is a therapeutic trauma-informed not-for-profit that supports vulnerable young people who are disengaged from education, work and community. The farm-based program is designed to increase young people's capacity to experience success in learning, work, and community environments. Trek Learning Centre aims to build equity and access for children and young people who are managing complex barriers, who often have limited voice or autonomy in their own situation. Our programs consist of therapeutic on-site work, support coordination, and ongoing scaffolded next-step opportunties, in order to facilitate growth, empowerment, and change.

Tuggeranong Child and Family Centre

The early years of a child’s life sets the foundation for their future health, development and learning. The Child and Family Centres are a one-stop-shop for supporting families during this important time. The Centres are staffed by highly skilled, experienced and qualified practitioners with social work, psychology, specialised nursing or other health, welfare and education qualifications. The staff at the Centres work to deliver a range of support programs and services to assist parents and young children (pre-birth to 8 years; however selected services can be offered to children up to 12 years of age).

Tuggeranong Vikings Swim Club

Community club based in Tuggeranong, Canberra. Formed in 1991. Run by a volunteer Board and Committee with over 100 local members. Tuggeranong Vikings support our members and the local community. We are seeking support from GIVIT for regional attendees wanting to attend the NSW Country Regional Swim meet taking place in Canberra. This event will bring together 500 families from regional NSW with many of these being from fire affected towns. For many of these families attending this event will provide an escape from the local challenges and allow their children to have a normal experience. We are seeking assistance for the families in food, fuel and clothing vouchers

Tumbarumba High School is a NSW public school and has a student population of approximately 190 students and is located in the foothills of the Snowy Mountains. Tumbarumba is a relatively isolated rural high school that services the secondary education needs of Tumbarumba and various outlying communities, including Laurel Hill, Rosewood, Tooma and Humula. The local economy is underpinned by the timber, viticulture, agriculture and tourism industries.

The Basement Food Hub is a not-for-profit Organization that specializes in providing food hampers, support services, referrals, financial counselling, special family activities and so much more to the people of Lilydale and the surrounding community. We are blessed to be able to give fresh fruit, vegetables, frozen meat and ready made meals, as well as grocery items to those who may be doing it tough.

We are a community based, non profit state wide organisation. We provide support services to people of all ages of diverse genders, sexes and sexualities. Twenty10 is a free and confidential service and includes counselling, case management, drop in program, accomodation and groups and projects. We also provide information, referral and community education for service providers, schools and families/carers.

Twin Rivers Community Centre

Twin Rivers Centre is a community based organisation that helps people within the local area of Eagleby, Beenleigh and Logan primarily. As a centre we have a food co-op where people can buy reduced price groceries. We have a cafe that serves coffee and food. And we have a full administration area. Within these areas our Careers and Families Department manage several traineeships and volunteers. We run SQW courses for the long term unemployed where we have a lot of wrap around support in place to help underprivileged people find work and better support themselves and their family. We are a not for profit organisation whose goal is to bring hope to the community. We also have a church on site which belongs to the Australian Christian Church movement (ACC).

Tyers Lightning Soccer Club

Local community soccer club that is run by volunteers. We support both children and adults to compete in local soccer games. We are often approached by members who are struggling financially or have other issues such as family violence occurring at home.
We provide free meals to members if required and also provide a boot swap for players.
As a community club in a small town we are cut off from town once or twice a year due to floods and regularly have power outages. In these circumstances we open our change rooms for community to use showers and we provide meals.

We are an international humanitarian, and non-government organization (NGO) that originated in Taiwan with over 10 million members worldwide throughout 57 countries and operated by a worldwide network of volunteers and employees. We have been awarded special consultative status at the United Nations Economic & Social Council. The Foundation was founded by Master Cheng Yen, a Taiwanese Buddhist nun in 1966 as a Buddhist humanitarian organization and has several sub-organizations, such as the Tzu Chi International Medical Association (TIMA) and the Tzu Chi Collegiate Youth Association. Tzu Chi volunteers are mostly recognizable worldwide by the blue and white uniforms. The foundation's work includes free medical services, disaster relief and environmental work such as recycling of which we have over ten thousand stations worldwide.

UCA - The Wayside Chapel

The Wayside Chapel’s Community Services Centre provides those living on or about the streets of Kings Cross with access to facilities necessary to maintain a basic standard of personal health and hygiene. It also provides information, referrals and advocacy to those needing further support with presenting issues including homelessness, mental health and alcohol and other drugs.

UCA Dayboro Uniting Church

In times of community disasters (fires/floods etc) and personal / family challenges (economic hardship, homelessness, domestic violence, illness, loneliness etc) the Dayboro Uniting Church provides people with emergency relief via food parcels, clothing, emotional support, friendship, and counselling using various fundraising methods such as donations, regular cake/craft/bric-a-brac sales, and concerts.

UCA Wesley Mission - Kangaroo Point Uniting Church

We are a church and we assist the homeless & the needy with whatever items we have at hand. We have recently renovated our kitchen so that we can continue to serve the community with hot meals. We also hand out food parcels on Mondays & Fridays and also provide a hot meal & necessary items (warm clothes/blankets or soap, toothpaste & brush) for people having it rough out on the streets on a Saturday evening.

UCX

UCX Ltd is a not for profit organisation with the goal of creating positive experiences catering to diverse groups, to enrich the overall student experience at UC creating lasting memories through buy in and a sense of community, belonging and loyalty with the greater UC brand.

In 2020 UCX launched the "UCX Food Pantry" project, which was aimed to provide students with essential pantry items. Many students don’t always have access to food. The Food Pantry hopes to give UC students access to free food supplies multiple days a week. The Food Pantry would be open to students for up to 8 hours per week split across 3 days and will stock a variety of food items, most of which will be non-perishable in order to avoid wastage. This project aims to encourage healthy eating, enable and support students struggling financially to continue to eat properly. Since this project has been running for more then a year now. We have developed an understanding of how great this program is for students, the feedback has been incredible and we have begun providing more essential products such as toiletries and some clothing items. This essentials have been requested by students as they can be quite expensive and they struggle to buy them

Givit would assist in sourcing non-perishables and essentials in order to have a constant flow of these products for students.

Ukrainian Council of NSW

Since its inception in 1949, the Ukrainian Council of NSW (UCNSW) has had as its mission to be a strong coordinating body representing all Ukrainians in NSW.

Recently our organisation has had to take the lead on assisting the thousands of displaced Ukrainians who have come to Australia as the result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

We have set up weekly sessions whereby we provide the following to displaced Ukrainians:
* food parcels
* clothing, footwear, kid's toys etc
* English language lessons
* Presentation sessions from Humanitarian Service Provider organisations and other government bodies such as SSI, AMEPS, STARTTS and others

Ulladulla Local Aboriginal Land Council

We are community organisation with over 300 members which manages land claims, provides social housing and promotes and preserves Aboriginal cultural heritage. The ULALC often runs free cultural and health and wellbeing activities for both the Aboriginal and wider communities.

Umbrellas and Footprints Inc

U&F’s central objective is to alleviate suffering amongst those who, through disadvantage, struggle to fulfil their basic needs. We identify gaps in unmet need amongst those with disadvantage who do not have the resources or means to satisfy their basic needs. We are an all-volunteer run organisation.

Our principle projects include Brollie Brigade mobile showers and Vic Park Heart including our annual Christmas Season Appeal that primarily supports FDV refuges and outreach, homeless & street present people and at-risk youth accommodation.
Under U&F's general mantle, we provide assistance to people struggling to remain independent or who otherwise fall through the gaps of assistance not provided by aged care or NDIS support. We also assist other charitable organisations that lack the means or expertise to apply for grants or devise strategic plans.

We are a part of an expansive community-based network of similar organisations that exchange donations in order to distribute quickly

UniSocial Australia

Community outreach program that has been developed in partnership with the Universal Church the Kingdom of God to support those who are physically, emotionally and spiritually impoverished. Currently open to the community is a weekly Food Bank, Free English classes, Prison support, Blood and Plasma donation drives, Night Angels feed the homeless, Patient care group available for hospital visits, Caleb Group available for visits and companionship to the elderly.

Unison is one of the largest providers of services for homeless people or those at risk of homelessness in Melbourne’s north and west. We connect people to safe and affordable short, medium or long-term housing combined with support to address any challenges that may have contributed to their fragile housing situation. In addition, we help people re-establish and maintain a secure home.

People on a low income looking for affordable rental
We provide social and affordable long-term rental housing in Victoria for people on a low income - employed or on Centrelink benefits. The properties range from rooming houses, apartments, units and houses. Our homes offer tenure security and cater

United Minds Community Services

We understand that funding the financial gap between the Medicare rebate and Psychology fees can be a challenge and for some, it is impossible. Sadly, many people miss out on much needed psychological support because they simply cannot afford it. Unfortunately, the low increases we have seen with the Medicare rebates over the last decade have meant bulk billing is now financially unsustainable for businesses. To help bridge this gap, we have introduced Community Funded Sessions (CFS). To enable CFS for the Community we seek funding through grants & fundraising. All funds raised through these efforts allow us to fund most of the cost for psychological sessions on behalf of people who cannot afford it or who, due to their circumstances, would struggle to access our service without the support from a CFS place. There is a small co-payment fee of $20.
