Help people impacted by Victoria Bushfires
UPDATE DECEMBER 2024: GIVIT is monitoring the current bushfire situation in Victoria and is ready to assist as and when we're needed as bushfires threaten communities this holiday season.
GIVIT captures exactly what's needed by people and communities impacted by the Victoria Bushfires, so you can make a real difference quickly and easily.
Please do not send or take unrequested donations into impacted areas. Unrequested donations hinder recovery efforts. GIVIT captures all donation offers online so your donation does no harm and meets real needs.
Recovery organisations will request items and services to help people affected once impact is assessed.
100% of publicly donated funds received by GIVIT for this appeal will be used to purchase essential items and services to provide bushfire relief across Victoria.

Have something else to give?
List your donation and support organisations working with vulnerable people and communities will see what you are offering.
There are a number of ways you can help people impacted by bushfires in Victoria:
Donate money
Donate money directly to the Victoria Bushfires Appeal. These funds will be used to buy exactly what's needed for people affected by bushfires in Pomonal, Dadswell Bridge, Beaufort and other towns.
Alternatively, you can see what's needed on the list above, and FUND an item or service directly to provide fast, effective bushfire relief.
100% of publicly donated money received by GIVIT for the bushfire appeals will be used to purchase essential items and services for people impacted by bushfires. Wherever possible, GIVIT buys items and services locally to assist with economic recovery of bushfire-affected communities.
Donate items
GIVIT is the best way to donate items that are actually needed. Donating via GIVIT ensures your item donation helps recovery rather than hinders it, which can be the case when people donate unrequested items after bushfires.
You can see what items are needed for Victorian bushfire relief in the list above. Click 'GIVIT' if you're able to donate that specific item.
If you wish to donate items that don't appear in the what's needed list, you can offer them for donation via our Online Warehouse. Once offered, charities registered with GIVIT will be able to view and claim your item, in which case you'll be put in touch with that organisastion. Please note that in some cases the items you've offered to donate may not be needed at this time.
Volunteer or donate time
Do you have a skill, a trade or a service that may be helpful to someone recovering from a bushfire? Or would you just like to help a charity by volunteering in administration, case work, marketing or transport? You may be able to volunteer in person or remotely. You can list your offer to volunteer in our Online Warehouse by completing this form.
Once offered, charities registered with GIVIT will be able to view and claim your volunteering or service offer, in which case you'll be put in touch with that organisation. Please note that in some cases your offer to volunteer your time and/or services may not be needed.
Right now! Your financial donation will enable GIVIT to purchase one or more essential items or services for a bushfire victim.
In the early stages of recovery, this may be a voucher to help a family buy groceries while they're living in temporary accommodation. In the medium term, your donation might purchase books or toys for a child whose possessions were destroyed. And in the long term, your donation could help buy a fridge or a washing machine for a family moving back into their rebuilt home.
After a community is affected by a bushfire, recovery can take a long time. GIVIT is still receiving requests for assistance from recovery organisations helping people who lost their homes in the 2019/2020 Black Summer Bushfires. After disaster strikes, GIVIT helps until we're no longer needed, and your generous donation allows us to get exactly what's needed to people during each stage of recovery.
If your home or property has been impacted by bushfires, you should head to the Victorian Government's Emergency Recovery Victoria page as a starting point.
To receive donated items or vouchers through GIVIT, you must first connect with an organisation in your area that's providing disaster recovery support. This organisation will assess your needs, and can then place requests on GIVIT on your behalf. Head to our need help page and use the search functionality to find a relevant organisation near you.
Please note that there is no guarantee that these requests for assistance will be able to be met.
