We support families who are vulnerable and experiencing multiple issues including homelessness, FDV and drug & alcohol.
The families that we are working with are predominantly experiencing issues such as homelessness, child protection involvement, FDV & AOD issues. We are often faced with requests for food to get people through. Sometimes the requests may be to provide basics like meat and veggies, milk, and bread, other times it may be to provide school lunch for the kids.
We also receive regular requests from our families for phone credit. The families are often without transport and so are isolated and in desperate need to be able to contact services & agencies for support and assistance.
We are not funded to provide Emergency Relief and although we refer families to these agencies, with the cost of living it often isn’t enough. In addition, many of the families we support are experiencing overcrowding due to the housing crisis crippling our state leaving families struggling further.
We are seeking access to vouchers to use to buy food and phone credit for families engaging with our service.
