Single mother with severe rheumatoid arthritis is trying to rebuild their lives after flood event
My client is a single mother who was last year diagnosed with severe rheumatoid arthritis in both her arms and feet. She now finds it difficult to do simple tasks while raising her son on her own. She is currently unemployed due to the pain she has been enduring, and has been struggling to keep up with costs of her specialist appointments and medications.
My client was renting at the time of the 2022 flood event and also lost many belongings which she needed to replace. She had to evacuate for several days and has now been advised by the estate agent that the owner needs to do repairs so her lease is uncertain and she is very anxious about becoming homeless due to the lack of housing for those on low incomes.
