A 13 years old, has an acquired brain injury, acute disseminating encephalomyelitis, and MOG positive optic neuritis. He experiences ongoing left leg dysfunction, fatigue, and communication challenges in addition to secondary psychosocial impacts.
Extensive medical intervention and changes to function have impacted his wellbeing, and he has experienced significant anxiety and low mood. His condition means that he can't attend school has become unmanageable in the short term. He is supported by his mother in home learning with close supervision and support.
His younger sister (8) & older brother (18) who both have disabilities. The mother works infrequent casual shifts in a children’s creche with income supplemented through Centrelink.
Because of his increased care and considerable financial strain meeting cost of living needs for her family, she has asked for food vouchers to be able to put food on the table
