This young mother has just exited a 6 year DV relationship with her husband. During the relationship, she suffered psychological and verbal abuse, her husband was demeaning, he controlled her life and her relationships which made her socially isolated, she was ordered to stay at home and become dependent on him. Together, they have a six year old daughter whom she has two days of supervised visitation with each week. This young woman suffers from reading and writing difficulties and is on NDIS which is her only source of income. She is in stable accommodation and has an NDIS support worker who also helps with her transportation to places. She also has legal representation in regards to custody matters with her child with whom she is seeking more access. Her confidence and self esteem are gone, she is looking to rebuild her life and form new friendships and relationships and become part of her new community.
