This lady is suffering from arthritis trying to support extended family. She is from PNG and escaped domestic violence. She now cares for her 5 children and 4 grandchildren in a department of housing home. This lady inured her back and suffers from arthritis which prevents her from physical work to support her family. Her injuries are severe and she cannot work which only adds to her financial issues. She has depression and anxiety but still manages to smile. After paying $400 per week rent and paying utilities she is left with a small amount of money and lives in continual poverty but extremely grateful she has a roof over her family. She came to us today with only 0.53 cents left in her bank account. A typical meal for this family is rice and butter. Her biggest immediate issue is lack of food for her family.
Update; This mum is continuing to struggle financially and would like some help with a laptop for her teenage son for his schooling.
