Single mum, broken car, special needs child.
Single mum of three. One son who is ten years old attends the special needs school where I am chaplain. Her vehicle has again broken down and there is no money to fix it. Her son told me mum is very sick. When I phoned to check she said no but her car is not working again. She relies on the vehicle to be able to bring her son to the special needs school.
This family are struggling with the economic crisis for everyday living expenses.
The car has broken down again, so the special needs child is unable to get to school. The bus application was declined because they live at the end of a 'cul de sac' and the bus is unable to turn around. Mum is struggling to feed the three teenage children and is going without food for herself. She is very embarrassed about her situation. Yesterday called the school to pull the child out of the special needs school because she can't get him here and has no food.
