Wheelchair - Electric
Single mother refugee client with physical disability on wheelchair.
I have single mother with one teenage daughter, who is refugee and aged 47 years old with lots of health issues, but the main issues are being on wheelchair, she recent got electric scooter donated her from GIVI IT, to give her independency to move around attend her medical appointments. The donated scooter is broken, and she doesn’t have the financial capacity to fix it, I have rung the repairs, and they advised the call out fees are$160 which doesn’t include the parts if needed fixing it. I have obtained a quote for the cost of fixing the scooter, which is in total $630, this amount is how much she gets from Centrelink to live. This electric wheelchair means a lot for my client for daily survival and independence, she tried to use manual wheelchair it needed someone to push her which means depending on someone’s availability which she doesn’t have.
She desperately needs this amount to fix the scoter.
