This marks my clients first experience in self-advocacy to secure housing for herself and her children. She is a survivor of historical family and domestic violence, having fled from her perpetrator and the father of her children.
A 51yr old mother, she resides with her 13yr old daughter fulltime.
In her commitment to personal development, my client attends parenting courses and utilizes the Parents hotline when necessary. Additionally, she is enrolled in community college to enhance her digital literacy and computer skills.
Before Christmas my client had to resign from her job because her daughter was being bullied to an extent that she had to redraw her from school and consider moving to another state.
My client has recently secured a place for her daughter at a well-respected Adventist college for year 9, but she is currently facing difficulties with school fees, uniforms and essential school supplies.
