We are a not-for-profit charity Neighbourhood Centre providing an extensive range of services for a diverse community.
Seeking support to replace one of our fridges for our low-cost, not-for-profit Community Pantry which provides low cost & free food to community in need. The pantry is a non-funded community resource which is run primarily by volunteers.
Food at the pantry comes from:
- Our food recovery program, which collects food from local supermarkets, helping the environment & preventing food waste.
- Food bank – all food that is purchased is sold at cost.
- Donations from local businesses, community members & shoppers at local farmer’s market.
Food recovery & donated food is used to make free community meals which are available 3 days per week as well as food parcels for families in need. Free fruit and veg is also available to all her shop at the pantry.
Last financial year:
34,651kg of food was recovered from local supermarkets.
5,168 meals were cooked and provided free through our free meals
2,935 frozen meals made to have available for rough sleepers
