Fridge/freezer - medium
Indigenous single mother currently homeless with her young children. Needing cooking facilities to keep food on the table.
The client is an Aboriginal woman who recently relocated from Alice Springs to Cairns. She is the sole caregiver for her three children, aged 3, 5, and 8, and currently has no local support networks. They are residing in a single hotel room with two double beds and no proper cooking facilities. There is only a small bar fridge available, which is insufficient for a family of four. The lack of adequate refrigeration and cooking equipment makes it challenging for the client to store and prepare healthy, cost-effective meals for her children.
The hotel has approved the client’s request to bring in a medium-sized fridge, but due to her sole reliance on Centrelink income, she cannot afford this purchase. Additionally, an electric stovetop cooker would enable the client to prepare fresh and nutritious meals for her family, improving their overall health and well-being.
Support for these items would greatly assist the client in providing a more stable and sustainable living environment.
