Elderly and terminally ill resident that was impacted by two storm events and lost all food and medication.
Woman who lives alone has been battling a terminal illness in recent times. The storm events in February 2024 caused leaks in her home and power outages that resulted in her special food requirements to be spoiled and destroyed. She lost medication in the fridges amongst other items. She has been unable to recoup her losses and is on limited income via the disability support pension which sees three quarters of that go towards rent. The resident could use some assistance via vouchers to get her back on her feet. Recent September storm events have resulted in a comparable situation for her. Some assistance could also lift her spirits given the recent battle with her terminal illness and repeated storms.
