A dignified send off for a Homeless Vet who holds the heart of his community
Bunbury has recently lost a legend. One of our Rough Sleepers who made such a massive impact on anyone who engaged with him, has just crossed the bridge. Homeless for 30+ years, our friend thought that rough sleeping and homelessness was all he was destined for. But whilst working along side of some of us and building trust, our friend ended up being successfully housed, finally a place to call home. Life on the streets for so long had resulted in multiple health issues, and last Wednesday we receive a call that our mate was in palliative care. We were blessed to spend his last moments with him. We are now seeking to give him the best send off- at the beach which he loved. The important part of this is that he has many friends who are in the homeless community, and we want to provide a safe space in which they can remember and celebrate their friend whilst feeling safe in a world that is so vulnerable. We are seeking donations to help with catering to lesson the load in front of us
