Young person in DFV Refuge needing to purchase suit pants and jacket for formal and graduation
We are requesting a $300 Myer gift voucher for a young person who is currently living in emergency accommodation due to Domestic and Family Violence. The young man has their formal and graduation coming up on the 10th and 13th of November and they cannot afford a suit jacket and pants. The young person had to flee their home at the start of the year due to domestic and family violence and had to leave with little to no belongings. The young person's mother cannot afford to purchase the suit as she has 7 other children and is experiencing financial hard ship due to domestic and family violence.
We really want to support this young person to celebrate what an amazing achievement it is to finish high school, especially considering the difficult year the whole family has had. At one stage this young person was traveling over 4 hours on public transport a day to attend school to ensure they graduate this year, as their initial refuge placement was very far from their high school.
