Just a mum and her baby looking to break the cycle.

A single mother has recently given birth to her baby at 30 weeks. She travels daily to and from the hospital to be with her baby to feed, bond and reassure.... the mother told us that she feels like 'it's just the two of them against the world and all odds'.
The mother grew up in a dynamic and violent cycle of abuse as a child, As an adult, including during her pregnancy, she found herself living in a similar family situation, her partner and the father of the baby, deeply controlling and violent. The mother left the family home early in the pregnancy and has worked hard to try and stable the unit as she awaited baby... but things were hard with limited employment opportunities, bring reliant on public transport and pregnant, no financial support or savings... no emotional support network. Still she was determined.
Now with the arrival of baby, she is even more determined to break the cycle of abuse, to see her baby thrive and nursed to health... together rewriting their destiny.
