Cockatoo Storm Recovery
The resident is an older woman currently caring for her 15 yr old granddaughter in the property that she has lived in for 28 years. The home lost power for 9 days in the Feb Storm event in Victoria causing damage to the shed, side fence and destroyed a large amount of food that she had been storing in chest freezers and fridge.
The resident is currently linked with NDIS for supports however is finding it very difficulty to recover the losses of the food spoilage. She is currently experiencing financial hardship and due to a number of complex health conditions has been in and out of hospital since the storms.
Support in the form of these vouchers would significantly help the family recover their losses and bring hope to the family through this challenging time. Despite the obstacles the resident has defied the odds and wants to be around to care for her granddaughter.
