Young Single mum finally found a home after living in a van - needing lawnmower
After some generous support from GIVIT, this young mother is finally set up with her household furniture needs, her children are excelling at school and they have a long term roof over their head. Her final goal is to get a lawnmower to maintain her new yard as she cannot currently afford one. This would assist her to pass her rental inspections and maintain this new tenancy. Prior to this, she and her children were living in a van whilst pregnant due to a lack of options available after fleeing domestic violence. She and bub were frequently in and out of hospital due to health complications. This had a significant impact on her mental health and wellbeing. This left them reliant on family and (limited) public facilities when they need to use showers, bathrooms, washing, an cooking facilities, etc. She was also experiencing financial hardship due to unethical lenders. She lost her employment after her car broke shortly after being purchased and was left with a car loan of over $20,000.
