Family of 4, 2 high needs children, effected by consecutive floods, having to be rescued during the second event. Mother is a nurse and has had to reduce hours as the father's mental health has declined significantly causing major financial stress and family conflict. The family capacity has been severely reduced and they have been unable to attend to repairs as they consider they would receive a government subsidy to retrofit the home given the high flood zone of the home. They were not offered this and now need to commence their own repairs and replacement of furnishings and fitouts for new kitchen. The family where not insured given the increased in premiums following the first flood event.
