PROUD FIRST NATIONS WOMAN ACADEMIA DREAMS- QUEENSLAND TO VICTORIA
Our Strong Self Determined First Nations woman has faced rental affordability stress and cost of living barriers whilst studying full time leading to not being able to sustain the tenancy and sleeping rough. This did not deter her dream to be her first person to follow up with high academia goals even whilst rough sleeping.
She has graduated and first person in her family to be accepted into university. The tools required for university were damaged during the cyclone and the item is too expensive to repair. Mid-year entry and travelling to another state for the first time in her life that she will leave Queensland to another state.
She has overcome so many barriers, and we believe she will be the first to complete her university degree. Her dreams will come true and inspire other First Nations Woman, Rough Sleepers and people in her community to follow their higher academic dreams. Our Ancestors, elders and community members will all be cheering in spirit when she gradates.
