Homeless grandmother secured permanent housing needing help with bed and fridge
A lady in her late 50's has been homeless since 2021 and has just secured permanent housing. The lady had been in a relationship with her child's father that featured severe domestic violence. The lady lost her home in 2021 and since that time she has lived in her car, at friends homes or in emergency accommodation. The lady's daughter is now an adult, she has addiction struggles and the lady helps to care for her granddaughter and in the absence of a permanent house that has been extremely difficult. The lady has not been able to secure work as a result of her unstable housing and the stress that situation caused, she is on a Newstart allowance and has very little financial resources to furnish the home, however now she is settled she is hopeful of working again. We have assisted with some of the smaller items, however she is still needing help to get a bed and a fridge, she is sleeping on a blow up mattress on the floor. The lady would be very grateful for an assistance.
