Torres Strait Islander family going through Sorry Business requires support
We are supporting a large Torres Strait Islander family who live in Cairns and have experienced a number of deaths in the family of elders. Their cultural approach to sorry business involves many family gatherings to work through the funeral arrangements and to grieve. They are experiencing challenges with keeping on top of the food needs for the very large numbers of people who they need to feed. This is adding additional financial pressure on the family who are already trying to cover the costs of funeral expenses
