Homeless Elderly Woman with Disability Building Tiny Home to finally leave homelessness behind.
My elderly client has been through a lot in the past few years. During the catastrophic floods of 2022, she lost her home and 75% of her belongings. Now homeless and living in temporary housing, she longs for a safe and secure forever home and is currently in the process of building a tiny home.
Living with a disability and unable to afford a rental due to skyrocketing prices, her only option is to build a portable home—a safe space she can place on higher ground to protect her from future floods and allow her to rebuild her life in a secure, permanent location.
Thanks to incredible community support, diligent saving, and help from her family, she has raised 80% of the funds needed! Now, she only needs a little more to secure the final essential items.
