Community Christmas Cheer Hampers are disbursed to those who are in need of additional support during Christmas
Community Christmas Cheer Hampers were given out to 99 households in our rural area in 2022. We are asking for support to ensure we are in the position to meet this year's nominations as the financial pressures on households has increased greatly and families are struggling to make ends meet.
Each hamper consists of nonperishable food, festive foods and gifts for all within the household. We have wonderful volunteers who give their time to pack the hampers and gift wrap the presents. It is a huge task and we really solely on donations as this initiative is not funded.
Hampers can vary depending on each household and we aim to make each hamper as individualised as possible to ensure needs are met. One of the many grateful responses we received last year for hamper recipients was "We are very grateful as the thought of Christmas and how we were going to manage was becoming so stressful - then the hamper arrived, and it was such a relief. Thank you to all involved".
