Single mother of two young children. Family at risk of severe health issues due to mould & damp. Needing to replace items.
UPDATE - 28/3/25 - evacuated due to cyclone Alfred, no power for more than 3 days. water and damp came into house & caused extensive mould to mattresses, bedding, couch with all thrown out due to health risks. Fridge no longer works post cyclone.
2023 - Mother was in hospital with newborn who was having heart surgery at time of the flood.
Returned to flood affected property & there were severe mould & damp issues which caused the family to be displaced. Family found alternate housing which now also has severe mould and damp issues due to being flood affected. Family has had to move into temporary accommodation for a week whilst owners replaces kitchen bench and parts of bathroom that were filled with black mould. Baby's doctor has serious concerns for baby & family's health & has recommended they replace mould damaged such as beds and bedding. Family also needs a washing machine.
