Child in care in remote town needs additional support
Pre-adolescent child who lives in the remote town of Fitzroy Crossing in WA. Has endured numerous adverse life experiences and trauma throughout his life. Due to this, he now deals with behavioural issues, developmental delays, and has begun to seek out drugs at a young age.
He lives in the care of his grandmother and with his two younger brothers, who also experience their own behavioural challenges.
Due to this remote location and lack of family and social support, he faces many challenges in receiving the high level of assistance that he needs. Health services do engage with him but it is sporadic and does not address the crucial home environment where he needs access to support the most.
We are currently attempting to provide him with practical support and assistive technology which may give him a healthy outlet and some reprieve at home.
