Bar fridge

Single mother of young daughter, cares for elderly disabled mother. Seeking support to buy daughter essential items / toys.

Mum is an Aboriginal woman living remotely who was recently reunified with young daughter who has been in out of home care in Perth for over a year. Reunification in care and protection proceedings is not common, and is a testament to mum's ongoing and consistent work over the course of a year in engaging in an alcohol rehabilitation program, undertaking ongoing counselling and accessing therapeutic supports, separating from partner who was using violence against her, undertaking a parenting course to understand the impact of FASD on her daughter.

Mum lost everything in recent floods (Dec 22/Jan 23) and has been slowly purchasing replacement furniture for the house, where she also cares for her elderly disabled mother. Most items sought are for the benefit of her daughter, who has recently returned to her care and to the community.
