New Beginnings
A 40-year-old single mother, recently sober after years of substance abuse and escaping an abusive relationship, finds herself pregnant again. She lives in a small, struggling home with her 15-year-old daughter and the daughter’s best friend, also 15, who is pregnant and has nowhere else to go. The family is caught in a cycle of financial strain and emotional scars, each day a battle to stay afloat. The mother works tirelessly to care for her children, stay sober, and offer a semblance of security, determined to create a better future despite their circumstances.
Though life is far from easy, the three of them begin to find strength in each other. The daughter and her friend, both overwhelmed by their own fears and uncertainties, start to rely on the small, quiet moments of love and support they share. The mother, though weary, begins to feel hope again, knowing that change isn’t about perfection, but about the steady steps they take toward a new beginning.
