We hope to thank all of those who have helped us in 2024
We are a tiny community organization in a border community that is quite often literally left off the map. The community is small & has more than its fair share of challenges. Drug & alcohol fueled violence, DFV police call out rates 4x those of neighbouring communities COMBINED, mental health & homelessness- all sadly feature here. But we are resilient, & it’s because of the volunteers who dedicate their time to ensure our programs & support groups continue to run. These devoted & enthusiastic locals turn up, day after day, so that those who need us won’t be turned away. Sadly, our funding doesn’t include a ‘with thanks’ kitty, so we are asking for some support to help us say ‘THANK YOU’. Our volunteers don’t come from wealthy backgrounds, & they pay for their own fuel costs to help us- we would love to repay just a small amount of that back as a form of recognition for the work, kindness & generosity they give to us each year.
