Client required to relocate due to the 2022 floods, destroying all his belongings.
Client was forced to evacuate his private rental property in October 2022, forced to seek emergency accommodation until he secured permanent public housing in April 2023, in a one-bedroom house in Shepparton.
With no contents insurance and living on the pension, he had limited capacity to purchase household whitegoods and furniture. Client received some furniture from friends to make do. Client is sleeping on a single mattress on the floor, which is not suitable for the client who suffers from osteoarthritis of the spine.
Client is currently burrowing a fridge/freezer from a friend who he will need to return soon due to the friend needing it back. Client has no washing machine and has been going to the laundry mat to wash his clothes, with winter ahead of us, the colder weather impacts the 58-year-old client’s arthritis.
