Family of 5- with an elderly mum impacted by the Feb 24 Victorian Storm event experiencing severe financial hardship.
This lovely family experienced a prolonged power outage following the February 2024 storm event and fallen trees in their PPR, food spoilage which impacted the large family significantly. The mom of this family used to bake as her primary income, which she has stopped 6 months ago due to being a fulltime carer for her elderly mum.
Therefore, this lovely lady is now unemployed and not receiving Centrelink benefits yet as she has not been able to focus on herself to get things organised due to her busy life. Quitting her baking job has significantly impacted this family’s financial situation.
The family are experiencing severe financial hardship and are unable to take her mum to certain community events as the daughter is unable to afford the cost and the fuel cost to drive her mum to these events, appointments etc. This has significantly impacted the elderly mum’s and the daughter’s wellbeing and mental health. Any assistance to this family would be a great relieve.
