Refugee single mother who recently lost her eyesight in one eye and has escaped family violence
Along her refugee journey to Australia, client faced many struggles, violence and trauma, including the loss of her husband. Arriving in Australia, with her children, client remarried and experienced significant intimate partner violence. Client does not speak English, cannot read or write, as being a woman in her country of origin, she had very little rights or opportunity. Client lost eyesight in one eye and due to chronic pain and illness, has limited capacity to cook, clean and household chores. Client requires a washing machine, her washing machine broke several months ago and has been too ashamed to ask for help to purchase a new washing machine. A washing machine will assist greatly, especially with school uniforms.
