Mum with young children excited to be moving home soon after Kimberley Floods

A mum with 3 young children were seriously impacted by the Kimberley Floods of 2023. They lost their home and all of their belongings. While the family were evacuated to Fitzroy Crossing and then stayed with family immediately after the flood, they have struggled to make ends meet and with mental health issues. They are now living back on country in Temporary Accommodation Units and can see the progress being made on their new forever home. The children in particular have been struggling to adjust to their new "normal" and have not been attending school. This has put more stress on the mum. With them going home soon the mums focus now is to furnish the house and make it a home for her young family.
