Students impacted by domestic violence and addiction issues at home, impacting schooling
Students at our school are also exposed to domestic violence and addiction issues. They have no money for toiletries and feminine hygiene products. They are not able to have a shower because the power bill is not paid and there is no hot water.
They are hungry because there is no food in the home. We can provide food through Foodbank and we have showers at school so the students can shower here but we do not have shampoo, conditioner or deodorant for them to use so that they can go to class without feeling embarrassed. They need to feel comfortable in class in order to focus on the lessons and toiletries would really help.
